the real question this week, who wants to make the cut and who just wants two practice rounds for the masters (thats what im asking myself as I consider taking mickelson)

Pretty sure Phil's talented enough to mail it in and still make the cut. (I'm not taking him though, so it's still safe.)

I'm curious and think I'll ask. Why did de Jonge drop by 40 after the Arnold Palmer Invitational? Is it just that he contributed 10 birdies over 4 rounds, and none on the final day? No birdies on the final day was painful enough! :) I'm not accusing you, Guru, of anything unethical, but am just curious. Thanks.

Guru, Tourney Recap is showing up as some kind of code when I check it.

Sorry for the gobbledy gook this morning. I had been doing some testing the other day, and forgot to turn off the debugging diagnostics. Should be OK now.

[8] de Jonge ranked 63rd for the tournament in my "value" system, which considers hole-by-hole results, and rewards pars or better. Holes are also graded "on the curve", so birdying a hole that is birdied by 25% of the field is not as valuable as birdying a hole where that is a rare score.

Based on his relative ranking and the overall price of the field, his relative worth for the week was slightly under $1000. He started the week at a price of $1210, so his price decline was a partial movement toward that value.

If he had started the week with a price of $950 and scored the same results, his price would have remained steady. If he had started the week at a price of $800, his price would have increased.

Thanks. So, it's price vs. relative performance. I appreciate the quick response.

PS: I lied in #5. Only 19 of you suckers fell for it though. (Phil's only +1 through 11 though.)

nope no sarcasm....a 78 is solid right?....oh wait i was thinking of if I shot a 78, not a freakin pro :)

ugh, im in danger of having all 4 guys miss the cut on a team 4th place in the standings. what a drop that would result in

So, I'll have Mahan, Harrington, & A. Kim.

ebmal2002 has A. Kim, Kuchar & Couples.

Goldcoach has Baddeley, Couples, Leishman on the right side of the cut line, and Cabrera with 2 holes to get a birdie to make the cut.

The other teams will have to make up quite a bit of ground to catch us in segment 1. All should be encouraged that my players have sucked on Sundays the last 2 weeks.

Jeebus, Phil. I mean, thanks... but Jeebus.

Squad a combined 23 under today (26 birdies, 3 Fred Couples bogies), and yet Mahan (6 birdies) and Couples (4 birdies) only shaved one shot off the Mickelson/Henry best ball duo.
