The delayed start of the NBA season has crowded out time for GuruGolf setup work. Most years, I’ve got hoops processing on auto-pilot by the beginning of January, but that was not the case this year. I am typically ready to launch GuruGolf by the beginning of February, but I’m now thinking that the second week of February is more likely this year. As the President and Owner of the RotoGuru enterprise, I’m disappointed by the delay. As the sole employee of RotoGuru, I’m grateful for the extra time to get it up and running. Thanks for your patience.

I'm not contemplating any changes to the format this year, but if anyone has ideas for consideration, this would be the time to air them.

Dave, just a note to let you know we appreciate your efforts in putting together this game. I stumbled upon your Guru website 12-14 years ago. I am pleased to be a "Gurupie" Thanks, Dave

GuruGolf is a weekly favorite of mine, too. Take your time Guru. We'll be here.

From today's blurb:
I’ve been plugging ahead with GuruGolf setup, although I’ve been having more trouble with eyestrain after prolonged computer work – which has reduced the amount of time each day that I can do this type of work. Age is a terrible thief. Rather than pushing the limits to get ready for next week, I think I’m going to defer the start of the GuruGolf season until late February – probably launching with the PGA tournament in Cancun. That one always creates a big golfer turnover problem, since it marks the transition between the west coast tournaments and the east coast tournaments, so I think starting there will help in managing trades. At least, that’s my current rationale.

Not to hijack the thread, but my Yahoo golf team got the week's highest score out of about 100,000 teams worldwide. Scroll about halfway down the page for highest weekly scores.

FINALLY - the 2012 GuruGolf game has been launched.

As in prior years, the next tournament (Northern Trust Open) will be a preseason week, and will not count in the regular season standings. I use this week to shake out any system bugs that may have propagated during the offseason. Your participation in this first tournament is completely voluntary, and will have no impact on your regular season performance, as all rosters will be cleared prior to the first official tournament, which is the Mayakoba Golf Classic, held in the fourth week of February.

All registrations are carried over from prior years, so if you can remember your login and password, go ahead and use it. All teams and team names have been emptied. You can enter up to ten different teams under a single login.

If you can't remember your login or password, you have two choices: (1) send me an email and I'll look it up, or (2) just register under a new login/password combo.

All rules are essentially the same as they were in 2011.

If you encounter any apparent glitches, please let me know.
