Subject: Smallworld Rules?

Hey...
I am planning on participating in both the basic and ultimate hockey games from TSN this year and haven't played since Smallworld was bought out by The Sporting News a couple of years ago, and was wondering if the rules are more or less the same.
I remember hearing something about being able to buy trades. Is this true?
If someone could be kind enough to either provide me with a link or explain the nuances of the game, it'll be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! |

Buying trades is only in Basic. I can't think of any rule changes made to the Ultimate game from when it was Stallworld. The main difference is that price trains don't last as long as they did back then, as the amount of teams in the pay league are alot less then we had with SW.

one thing about the basic game is: buying trades totally mess up any chance of winning "legit", ie, not buying any trades.
If you don't buy trades, your chances of finishing in prize contention are unfortunately slim to none. I personally think that's stupid.
So anyway, if you plan to do the basic game, do it for fun if you don't plan to buy trades, because it will be unlikely that you can catch those guys who buy trades by droves.

Or pay for the ultimate game.
Of course, there's a major rule change: the free game is half of the ultimate game, both in roster size and duration.
