If Aebischer is highly drafted (I've seen his name being tossed around a bit), his price will have little movement except down. It's always best to wait a few days to search out the best price gainers because players heavily owned at the start of the season don't have as much room to gain ownership to gain money.

When I played TSN, I used to wait at least one day and most of the times 2 days to make a team. It made it much easier to make money at the start.

How long to wait? Usually two days is all that I could sit back for; after that I lost my mind. I had considered going three days late this year, to start with several Toronto players. Alas, I am not waiting at all this year, and will have a full roster from the beginning.

Yep,
I think that Datsuyk´s and Zetterberg´s values are going to rise. They are both talented young players with a good team. And quite cheap I think...But I still haven´t decided which one I should buy ;) Any ideas ? I pick the wrong guy anyway ;) Please help me ! -Meikkis-

FWIW here's my opinions: G - Cloutier Vancouver. 3 week LOCK! Opponents: Calgary, Edmonton, Columbus, Detroit, Minnesota, Buffalo, St.Loo, Phoenix, Columbus
D men - No opinion, pick low hope it turns out.
Winger - Kotalik Buffalo, if he's playing with Satan he should do well. Well balanced 3 week schedule but a lot of tough opponents in that mix.
Winger - Samsonov, Boston. Stay healthy.
Winger - Czerkawski, Isles. For some reason he can only play well as an Islander.
Center - Sakic, Colorado. Hey he's Sakic.
Center - Rucchin, Anaheim. Stay Healthy. So whatif he doesn't have Selanne or Kariya anymore, Sykora and Federov aren't bad replacements.
Center - Datsyuk, Detroit.
My opinions only, time will tell.

I'm not getting Aebischer for his 2-in-8 to start the season. The earliest day I'd get him is Oct 16.

DragonsRage - I am sure that a two day wait will get you in on the ground floor of some price gainers, and shouldn't cost you much in the way of points. I am still pimping Toronto guys starting on Saturday; come along for the ride!

Meikkis: From RotoTimes: Henrik Zetterberg (LW) Det will start the season centering a line with Brendan Shanahan and Ray Whitney, according to the Detroit News. When the Red Wings begin their season, Pavel Datsyuk (C) Det will center Brett Hull and either Tomas Holmstrom and Boyd Devereaux, according to the Detroit News.
I would start with Zetterberg.

Thank Irish, I saw this information and I am still thinking ;) I play basic hockey with 7 players. What do you think ? > should I move Datsuyk to Lang (2 more games until next thu). Otherwise I think, Datsyuk will be better money maker... I have Hemsky right now, should I go to Zetterberg instead ? If I pick Lang I mean. What do you think ? Or is is just better to keep Hemsky and Datsuyk.. And I am thinking more moneywise not so much points yet !

For money, I would stay with Datsyuk and Hemsky. In general, I have found that money follows points per game, as long as the guy with higher points per game is playing. In this case, I think that Datsyuk will draw buys when his schedule picks up. I also don't believe there will be many opening rosters with Hemsky - and if he produces, he will go up in value. I like Zetterberg better than Datsyuk, and I would not suggest Lang at all. I would rank these guys this way - Zetterberg, Hemsky, Datsyuk, Lang. But let me suggest Niedermayer from Anaheim. Playing with Federov, low price (2.5 mill), and good schedule for first four weeks.

Just some Notes From Around the Web... Rookie Names to Keep an Eye on! Info from NHL.Com
Eric Staal, Carolina Hurricanes -- Center -- $3,320,000
He spent nearly all of last season as the top-rated prospect by the NHL's Central Scouting Bureau. Staal led all NHL scorers with five goals through five exhibition games while playing with Jeff O'Neill on his right wing and Francis on the left.
Jiri Hudler, Detroit Red Wings -- Center -- $ 1,500,000 He looked terrific during the first half of training camp while centering Brendan Shanahan and Tomas Holmstrom. In three intra-squad games, they combined for six goals and seven assists and were clearly the team's best line.
Tuomo Ruutu, Chicago Blackhawks -- Center -- $ 2,400,000 Ruutu is the top pre-season pick for the Calder.
Joni Pitkanen, Philadelphia Flyers -- Defense -- $ 1,850,000 The Flyers traded right wing Ruslan Fedotenko and two No. 2 picks to Tampa Bay for the Lightning's first-round choice, fourth overall, in the 2002 Entry Draft so they could select Pitkanen. His defensive skills have been the talk of the Flyers' training camp
Marc-Andre Fleury, Pittsburgh Penguins -- Goalie -- $ 4,050,00 Andre Fleury, the first pick in the 2003 Entry Draft, has shown considerable skill and poise during training camp. The Penguins traded up to get the right to draft Fleury and the move appears to have been a good one. They will have to make a decision whether to send him back for another year of seasoning in juniors or to throw him in against the NHL's best as their starter
Peter Sejna, St. Louis Blues -- Wing -- $ 2,300,000 He reported to the Blues at the end of his college season and scored his first NHL goal off Patrick Roy. Later that week, he was named as the first European to win the Hobey Baker Award as the top American collegiate hockey player. Sejna had 91 goals and 190 points in 126 college games. He's a shooter and he showed in his first NHL game that he's not in awe of his professional opponents.
Best First 2 week Schedules (all w/ 7 games)
MIN -- DAL -- ANA -- VAN -- FLA -- BOS
Worst 2 week Schedule (4 games)
Tampa Bay
From ESPN.Com
Sergei Fedorov Fedorov is going to feel as if he has something to prove. Even as he works in the restrictive system espoused by coach Mike Babcock and perhaps at times longs for what he regarded as Scotty Bowman's and Dave Lewis' strait jacket, he will have a strong season in Anaheim -- both statistically and otherwise. There might be others at the drafting table who feel he will be hard-pressed to match his 36 goals and 83 points with the Wings, but he's going to at least do that.
Without Fedorov around, and with Steve Yzerman's knee still being a bit questionable as the season opens, the remaining Wings -- and not just Brendan Shanahan and Brett Hull, but also Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk -- will be counted on to produce more. And they will. So load up on the Wings, past and present.
Markus Naslund and Todd Bertuzzi will slip considerably this season. Joe Thornton wont.

Tuomo Ruutu. I have seen him play many years and he´ll be the future star for sure. No goals or assists yesterday but he played very strong game with Daze and Sullivan...8 tsnp. Nice schedule too and I´m waiting his next game ;)
