Sorry walk, but my alliance has shifted. I can easily name more Thrashers than Rangers this year. I have been to both of ATL's home games and I'm jumping on board. So, I am now a Thrashers fan, with the Rangers falling to my 2nd favorite team and in Thursday's ATL-NYR game...I will be rooting against the Rangers for the first time in my life.
The Atlanta Thrashers lead the NHL with 5pts!!! Thats home ice advantage throughout the playoffs if they started today :)
They really didn't play well tonight and were lucky to come away with a tie.
Anyone else wanna jump on board with me? With everything this team is going through this month, it was an easy decision. |

J , you have finally seen the light !
you should however considering putting the Rangers to 30th as opposed to #2
isles were lucky to walk away with a tie as they got sloppy in the 3rd .
that was a helluva overtime though

actually, the Thrashers were the lucky ones to get the tie, they didn't look too good in the first 2 periods.

Ever since COL fired Hartley and ATL snatched him up, I've been following them casually. They're playing off emotion right now, but Nurminen in net is going to help them a lot, IMO. They should be at least a decent team this year.

They have a glut in the goaltender position and I wouldn't be surprised to see them trade one of their 3 NHL ready goaltenders (Dafoe, Hurme, Nurminem) but probably not their prospect goaltender. I think his name is Lehtonin or something.
They seem to play a western style of play in the eastern conference. As long as it's not the trap. They also have a very good young nucleus.

Dafoe would probably be the one they want to get rid of, though with his injuries and bad play last year, there likely aren't too many takers. Nurminen seems to have solidified himself a spot on the roster at least for this year, though picking up Hurme hurts that a bit. I wouldn't be surprised to see them ride Nurminen and Hurme this year and then work Lehtonen into the system next year.

I think Lehtonen was the 2nd pick in last years draft. The highest pick ever for a European goaltender.
With Pasi in net, they can afford to let Lehtonen work on his game in the minors, which is a good thing, IMO.
If Heatley was healthy, I'd say they can contend with the Lightning in the division, without him, but with all the emotion they're gonna be playing with this year, I wouldn't be surprised with a #8 seed in the playoffs!

and the talk here in Atlanta has been trading Hurme, probably back to Florida for alot more than what Florida traded him for!
