Subject: New Hockey Statistics Site Posted by: philliephan - [30425416] Sun, Nov 12, 06:57 It appears that the current site (www3.ewebcity.com/swp) is too popular to remain on the current web provider as a free site. I have established a new site and will shortly be moving to that as the sole site. I will continue to maintain the current site for a few more days, or until it is shut down. The new site is: http://www2.domaindlx.com/fhs. I am hoping it will be a more stable environment and it has no restrictions on "Bandwidth". The downside: ads on the top and bottom of each page. Another problem for those who use the assimilator is that you will need to reenter your team(s) at the new site. Also the assimilator screen (because it has frames) has a pop up window, instead of ads on the screen. I will investigate this further. I will make a further announcement when I cut over fully to the new site. Let me know if there are any problems. I will have Guru update the links here when the cutover is complete. | ||||||

FYI- I got this on my latest sort: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Numeric value out of range (null) /fhs/stats1.asp, line 395 Most of the stats came up ok (it was a sort of centers by team). IceSteve, I have fixed the problem (it was with 30 day stats). (No I don't get anything for you clicking on ads, but it is how DomainDlx makes their revenue, allowing it to give out free sites without restrictions on bandwidth, since presumably the more a page is used, the more ad displays and clicks.) | |||||

Hey p-phan just a couple of glitches that have been bothering me for a while now. 1) When you click on a player's name to look at the break down of points the SWP do NOT match up with the opponent columns. 2) The 7th day column in the Assimilator is always a negative... This does not affect the totals, but it always throws me for a loop when I scan down the weekly results and see a -64 when it really is 64. TIA QB | |||||

I have fixed the assimilator day 7, and also fixed it to say 21 instead of 10 day schedule and some minor cosmetic stuff. caper - I confess that I do not use it regularly, but it can allow to model your team and give you a better idea of their performance in recent days. Others who use it more regularly might want to chime in. | |||||

There still remains a problem with Nov. 3, all players have 0, there points for that day are reported Nov. 4, possibly combined with points on that day. This is due to the stats I downloaded not being up to date, I cannot fix that. There also appears to be a problem with Oct. 6, but I am not even going to worry about that. Spot checking I found one or two players where points were off for 1 day, but I don't know why and it doesn't appear to be common. | |||||

caper, for me it has two main uses. 1st It's an easy way for me to check the upcoming schdule for my team, in fact the Hockey version goes out longer (21 days) so that I can plan upcoming moves, or at least know who needs to be traded. 2nd I can play with different combo's to see which fit with my cash on hand. I used to do this on paper, but this is much easier. A 3rd bonus, it a quick way to check all price movers on your team without opening a bunch of pages, or keeping a daily running total. If you go in and load your team and play around with it, you will probably find a quickly if it's a tool you want to use. HTH. | |||||

As of now the new site will be considered the production site. I have asked Guru to update the links here to reflect this. In the past few days most updates have occurred first at the new site due to problems at the old. Please change your bookmarks. | |||||

I was having trouble getting into the new site earlier this afternoon and apparently, philliephan switched the stats site back to the old server which is no longer working either. So, I guess we should bear with p-p until he gets one of the sites working again, or I should say, until the server comes back up again. | |||||
