Subject: philliephan memorial trust Posted by: jumpball - [4644339] Tue, Dec 19, 08:39 PAUL SCHEIRER MEMORIAL TRUST ---------------------------- Most of you know that Paul Scheirer (philliephan)passed away early on Monday, December 11, 2000. Paul was a man of unique talents and an astounding breadth of warm friendships, based in large part on his willingness to help out wherever he saw a need. His was an unusually generous and easy voice, and those of us who knew him directly for some years can confirm that impression for those whose acquaintance was through the Net. He was as real as it seemed. The sheer number of his admirers, now mourners, was brought home to those who were able to attend his crowded memorial service Friday on 12/15 or who have browsed the RotoGuru bulletin boards and other email messages. In all these contexts, speakers commonly emphasized what a paramount family man Paul was, as a friend to his wife, and a deeply attached father to their daughter Kathryn, 14, and son Jim, 12. It is because of the depth of these attachments and the disruptive suddenness of his death that those close to the family have suggested establishing a scholarship fund for the benefit of Kathryn and Jim. Kathryn and Jim share an upbringing and a heritage that deserve the best opportunity to develop. We would like to help. The information for those wishing to donate to this trust is below. In order to provide a memorial list of peoples' respects for the family, we request that if you give to the trust, please forward an email just mentioning that fact and including your name (as you would want it to appear on a document) and address (either mailing address or email address) to corner@erols.com. Checks should be made out to James & Kathryn Scheirer. A quick note to say thank you to those people that have already made contributions in philliephan's memory. I have now received emails from 4 people from the RotoGuru bulletin board (two of whom contributed to the kids' trust fund and two of whom contributed to the church). By the way, just what does BUTT mean (that's one I've never heard of)? | |||||

BUTT = Back Up To Top. The threads are sorted by most recent post, so it is a way of getting it back to the top. I assume I am one of the four who you received a check for. It was mailed to Perm Dude and hopefully gets forwarded to the applicable recipient. It can go to any fund you guys select. | |||||

Thanks Mario! We had a nice gathering of people at lunch today to remember Paul. I was the only one from the boards, but that didn't matter -- as long as we keep his spirit alive! I assume the trust fund information is the same. I'll try to find out an post the answer here. | |||||

GREENBELT!! Drop me an email. There's a Caps game against the Flyers on Monday March 10. I know we might not get jr. out that night (although i will ask his mom!), but maybe the rest of us could go!!
