Does anyone know any stores where you can buy these board games? I'm looking to buy but not over the internet.
Also does anyone here play these games? |

Not really sure. I only heard about it today. All I know is it's a board game with dice and cards for each player. I think you can get it on computer as well. They have a website I think it's
www.strat-o-matic.com (not sure)

If you live in the Pittsburgh area I know of a place in Squirrel Hill called "Games Unlimited". All they sell is board games. No computer games. A really neat place. They carry all the Strat-O-Matic games.

I live in St. John's, Newfoundland. I was wondering if stores like Wal-Mart or Toys-R-Us carried them or could get them shipped in.

I used to play during the late 80s and early 90s. It is actually quite fun. I played the conventional board game style. There are usually a couple of levels of play. A basic and an advandced. The basic lets you get into the idea of the game but the advanced is so much more accurate. I heard that they have also an electronic version. One of the cool things that it offers is that you can also order older years and play your fav team. ie. Replaying the Playoffs of 93 when the Canadians last won the CUP. The game does deal a certain amount with luck also, because of the dice being involved. As far as finding it. Usually look up the hobby shops or comic book stores. If a Place sells D&D kits it may also have the game.

I played Strat-O-Matic Baseball & Football back in the early '70s and if I remember correctly, my friend & I got the order form out of the back of SPORT Magazine. I don't think I've ever seen it sold in stores but then again I never really looked. The baseball & football games were fun to play as they were based on real performances by real players so I'd imagine the hockey game would be too.

I have played their hockey and baseball games and really enjoyed them. Of course, you have to have someone to play against if you play any board game but you can play against yourself too.
You can order the game directly from strat-o-matic from their website or via snail mail, it just takes longer to get it.

Any particular reason you want to get it from the store? Online will probably be your best bet for getting it.

H. Hawks,
I'm older, but not that older. 24
KKB,
I like to look at something before buying to see what I'm getting for my money and also I'm impatient. There's nothing worse than having to order something and then wait forever to get it.

Strat-O-Matic has very few retail outlets. You will not find SOM in Walmart or Toys R Us etc. A handful of specialty game stores carry the game. At one time they had a list of their outlets in their website and a 1-800 number you could call to get the location of any retail outlets near you, but I see neither at the website now.
St. John's may have a specialty game (wargame/board game) store. You will have to call them and ask.
