3 guys on my roster and only two trades.... I'm thinking the biggest hits to my team RV will be the Pittsburgh duo, even though both could play tomorrow..

Anyone with a price change theory (Richard) and/or add'l news not already in one of the other threads, please let me know.

Rotoworld, says Tarnstrom to miss up to 2 weeks.. So now it's down to Mario and Boyle... Looking more for news on Mario now than anything else..

Teddybears link for Boyle says he'll try and be back in a week or so. (He said whenever the pain from his broken index finger is gone.) He garanteed to miss a couple games though.

Mario is tougher. He didn't really descibe his injury too much, but said he hoped he'd be able to play in their next game. Does that mean he thinks it isn't too serious?

Looks like Tarnstrom is gone from alot of teams though. He's a neccessary move, and I'd probably just hold Mario because of what he said and the fact that the Pens have 4 games this week. (And new trades tomorrow anyway.)

Here's another link on Tarnstrom.
Says he could be back this weekend.
Then again he could be out for a couple of weeks.
I hate this guessing game:-(

Ugh. Well, I hate wasting trades on D-men, so now I'm not sure weather to move Tarnstrom either. Decisions decisions...

I already traded Tarnstrum -> Rachunek... Rotoworld on Dec 7 said that Tarnstrum could miss up to 2 weeks...
Injuries bite the big one.....

I'm just going to hold Lemieux and Tarnstrom. Neither injury sounds too serious, and I'd just want them back if I move them. If they both come back soon, which is likely from whats been said, is 4 trades in all worth 2 games each of points from their replacements? Not to me...

The Pens coach was quoted as saying 'both Tarnstrom and Hrdina could be back this weekend.' I have to put that above Rotoworld saying he'll be out 2 weeks... Obviously the Pens coach is a bit closer to the training staff than Rotoworld writers. ;)

Dang, I've got those 3 too.

Here's my initial plan:

Peter > Koivu or Weight
Hejduk > Naslund

I still don't know what to do with Tarnstrom and Boyle. Might still have to move both of them this morning. Boyle was gona be the season long hold...he was playing so consistently!

Boyle > some D man
Tarnstrom > I'm waiting for some thoughts on his price decline. If it looks like a lot I'll move him too.

I hate the injury bug.

Oh, I think I'm holding Mario

Here some number that may not mean much, but something to think about.

From my roster sampling for the teams in the Ultimate standings.

Tarnstrom on 53.8% of all rosters
Mario on 43.8%

As of very recently, Tarnstrom is on 58% of the teams making trades today and Mario 57%. You math experts can figure out if that means anything.

Turco -> Roloson has also started.

I suspect that today's price movers list will be dominated by the injured penguins - Lemieux and Tarnstrom. These guys are pretty widely held (Lemieux is on ~38% of the teams and Tarnstrom is on ~46% of the teams). Only Turco (73%) and Sanderson (42%) are as widely or more widely held than the injured duo from Pittsburgh. (My estimates of ownership are based on a small but random sample of yesterday's frozen rosters)

Of course this price drop for Mario and Dick will be overwhelmed in the coming days as Dallas (Turco and Modano) and Colorado (Hejduk and Forsburg) take a mini-break from playing.

I went Tarnstrom to Hamrlik since Tarnstrom looks to be out for a few weeks. I don't have Lemieux, so I don't have to worry about his price drop, but I was planning on picking him up tomorrow as I go Federov to Lemieux. If there is better info about the extent of Mario's injury, I might be looking for a different center to pick up - perhaps Morrison.

I had been looking forward to a nice rise in Mario's price as folks move out of Modano and Forsberg this coming week. Of course, if Mario's injury is extensive then I'll have to forgo this plan. Don't you just love injuries to popular players;-)

Arrggggh! Saw the Boyle update and acting before checking this board, so used my one trade to move Boyle instead of Tarnstrom. Oh nooooooooooooooo!

I buckled, Rogue and I decided to just go all the way up to Gonchar.

Peter > Koivu
Hejduk > Naslund
Boyle > Rauchnek
Tarnstrom > Gonchar

oh well, screw it. 2 trades in the bank now, lowest all year.

Tarnstrum -70
Mario -170

Oops and I held Mario.. Glad that I at least have Nasland who went up 110 to offset the loss.

held Mario too....

The center options are not there, IMO. Modano, Peter going into bad skeds and Thornton was out yesterday. I'm just gonna cross my fingers on Mario, even though I was doing so well making RV going in and out. It's getting kinda late though, and I think I need to put more emphasis on points now.

Did the same as smallwhirled. Bookie and I discussed and it seemed like the only reason to move Mario would be to save dollars. However, IF he does not miss significant time, he has games against weak defenses coming up in NYR and Boston. He usually kills my Rangers, and Boston has been giving up lots of goals lately (or so it seems?), so I would basically love to have him for those games -- if he is not out for any length of time.

Also, with no other stud centers playing today, the trade did not seem dire.

Team 1: Held Mario & Tarnstrom, went Guerin->Naslund
Team 2: Mario->Morrison. Tarnstrom->McInnis. Guerin->Naslund
Team 3: Held Mario, went Tarnstrom->Rachunek, held Guerin

One team is +$200K & another is -200K

Aaaaaaaaaaahhh the confusion....

At first i was planning on going Boyle --> ? to save some money at the D spot for a ? --> Thornton upgrade at the C... Then it became Tarnstrom --> ? instead when i learned of his injury. Now it's back to Boyle --> ? because he's injured now, and Tarnstrom could be back at any time. Add to that an elbow injury to Thornton that may or may not sideline him for more games and i basically have a basket full of wrenches thrown into it for this weeks previously planned trades.

Just trade them all, change your plans, and start from scratch. Simple as that. You should consider yourself lucky that this "confusion" of yours come on a Wednesday and you have all your trades.

Just to add a bit of a twist - Hedberg out:

Penguins G Hedberg sidelined with fractured collarbone

Maybe a good time to pick up Aubin for cheap? Although it may not be a good idea to have any Pittsburgh goalie with Lemieux and Tarnstrom out.

With Mario out, Aubin might have an extra player to play defense. So it might not necessarily be a bad thing.
