Subject: Trades for 1/9 and 1/10

Well now that I have 5 trades again (I hate that I ran out this week) and there are a few upcoming schedule holes, I thought I'd list some trade thoughts and see what others are doing...
1/9 Boyle -> Not sure yet may go to Modry or Schneider, but may take a cheap option just until Tarnsrtom comes back
Also watching for news on Mario... If he's going to play, I'll hold, if not bye bye super Mario... Hello ??? Thorton if any good news comes out about him, Damitra if there is no good Thorton news.....
1/10 Turco -> Broduer or Kolzig
What's everyone else got in mind....

Hmmmm.
(if injured) Mario --> Demitra, Weight, Morrison or Thornton Turgeon --> Demitra, Weight, Morrison or Thornton Turco --> Brodeur or Kolzig
Kinda confusing with the injuries. Already moved out of Tanstrom. Holding Mario on one team to see what happens; am Mario-less on the other.

You know, on second thought, one has to seriously consider Belfour in lieu for Turco (as opposed to Kolzig or Broduer; I know this was mentioned in the Turco replacements thread, too). While Toronto's next 3 games are on the road, they are playing well, they do not allow too many goals (thanks in part to Belfour), Belfour makes a lot of saves, Belfour is cheaper than his alternatives, and, well, the guy has been pretty darn reliably superb all season long.

Going:
Kovalev -> Mogilny Would love to keep Alexei, but I need to free up cash for my other moves. Might move Mario instead, I have until tomorrow noon to decide.
Tarnstrom -> Gonchar I figure if I'm going to move him, I'll get a quality replacement that I can hold all year.
Havlat -> Zednik I need the cash from here as well, but I would do this move even for just TSNP concerns. Montreal has 4 games this week against arguably the worst defenses in the league. (NYR, Buffalo, Calgary, Atlanta.) Calgary has improved under Sutter, but we all know that wont last.
Turco -> Johnson I really wanted to go Turco -> Belfour, but I'm about 200K short. I may just trade Mario instead of Kovalev just so I can grab Belfour. I guess I'm waiting to hear how Super Mario is first.
I'm not a big Kolzig fan to be honest, and his backup, that Charpantier kid, has played very well. Washington has a quality backup for the first time in years, so Kolzig might only play as much as a standard #1 now.
The thing with Mario is that I don't really like his possible replacements, and I'd want to get him back. (I figure Weight or Demitra are the only two real options.) So which is better:
Weight, Koivu, Straka, Kovalev and Belfour.
Or:
Lemieux, Koivu, Straka, Mogilny and Johnson.
Keeping in mind that If I go with option one, I'd have to move one of my centers (who I all like) back for Mario in a few days.... ahhh, damn I hate injuries. lol

Per the link in my other thread. Mario will sit tomorrow, but hopes to play on Saturday... Looks like my Mario -> Damitra or Thorton will happen.....
If Mario comes back quickly, I'll just go Federov -> Mario on Saturday.....

Knowing the way Mario would casually sit out a game just because of fatigue, he'll for sure sit out at least one game to rest his man-pain.

I'll go Mario->Weight . . if I can. Right now I can only access 1 of my teams . . and when I make a trade it doesn't register correctly. I understand others are experiencing the same problems. If TSN can fix things in time I'll also be trading Tarnstrom.
I would go Mario->Sakic, then back to Mario 1/13 if I had more trades . . . . but I have Turco, Modano & Guerin to get rid of on 1/13 so I can't take the chance on using 2 trades for the Mario move this week.

Nobody going into Nylander...I think I may go for a differential pick. He was almost going on an insane pace a month ago.

Walk already made two trades for me: Lamieux -> Koivu Boyle -> Hamrlik
With the delayed Freeze and this news about Thorton and Mario Rotoworld , I think I'll use a third trade to go:
Federov -> Damitra. The problem is that if the great one comes back early, I'll only have one trade left after doing the Turco swap tomorrow....
Tough call, I have an hour to decide.

Walk, any reason in particular you're trading Fedorov for Demitra? Is there an injury i'm not aware of?

Hi Simbot. Federov has two days off, but I realize he has 4 in 6 after that (albeit against defensive teams: chicago 2x, Philly and Colorado). However, Sergei F has not been filling the next lately.
So, I am moving him to Demitra for his 3 in 4 (and 4 in 6). St. Louis seems to be a high-scoring team this year.

I agree on a hard trading day... And now that I've made the Federov -> Damitra move, what I realize is that if both Joey T and Thorton come back right away, I'm going to have to choose only one of them, because that's all the trades that I will have until next Wednesday.... Man I hope there are no more injuries this week..... (woodknock please)....
