Subject: New Trades- What's Everybody Doing?

I'm thinking Alfredson=> Hejduk on the 28th.
Alfie hasn't done much, but I've held him because of his schedule. Ottawa's schedule slows the first week after the break with 3 in 8. Colorado starts a 7 in 11 stretch over the same time frame.
That's all I have for now. |

Will pick up Hejduk or Sakic some day. Gaborik would be nice too.

I reworked a few spots today and went White->Allison, Naslund->Murray and Koivu->Lindros. Next week I'll continue the rework.
I'm swapping from trading for money to trying to get some long-term stud holds. Not convinced that Lindros fits the bill but time will tell if he belongs.
This leaves me with Modano, Lindros and Allison at center and Tkachuk, Murray, Hossa and Miller (ugh) at wing. If I want to upgrade any winger, I'll have to drop either Patrick Lalime or Al MacInnis and I'm not quite ready to go there yet.

Now that I FINALLY got trades, I am moving Smyth to Hejduk. I ate two missed games and $220k due to poor trading habits (but hey, I have a franchise that is worth $66MM and ranked 50th).
I will also consider acquiring Sakic or Hejduk for Demitra if the Avalanche start scoring.
Finally, I am holding my Senators, Alfie and Hossa, but will move Havlat tomorrow to another TBD winger if his injury status does not change.

Walk - hold off on Sakic - he just went out with a broken foot (as reported in the latest injury thread). He was on my short list of long-term stud holds at center

I'm thinking of going: Jagr -> Hejduk or Murray Marchant -> Holik
I figure Holik will get close to the points of Lindros for less money.
Then I'm wondering what to do about Tarnstrom. He's not producing probably because Mario is out...Anyone planning to dump him, if yes for who?

Thanks Richard. Too bad I have Sakic (and Pavel Bure and John LeClair) on my Yahoo! team. Ugh. Interesting that you moved White when his team plays the worst defensive team in the league tomorrow, Atlanta. Lindros is hot though. I will hold White for this game.
I also will move Bondra to Hejduk and then look to hold with 4 trades on my Eat, Sleep, Drink NHL team.
Chances are I will have to move Havlat though on my other (better) team if the reports are that he cannot go tomorrow.

Modano - Forsberg X3 after tonight's game. Barnaby - Zednik X2 on the 26th. Moving all of my Ottawa players on the 28th (except Hossa - will keep him for a few weeks). Those trades should get me through the All-Star break.

Why are you guys dumping the Sens this week? Their schedule don't go bad until Feb 8. In fact, they play the most games of all teams before the all-star break (5 in 8 days). and if you would hold through those 3 off days, the Sens' schedule goes very sweet again by consistently playing 4 games in 7 days for another two weeks.
I'm holding my Sens (and my trades) until at least Feb 8.

Good point. I keep forgetting that even though I've signed up for the last third of the season (as opposed to a second "half"). But still, if I were playing ultimate, I still don't see why anyone would want to trade away all their Senators on the 28th.

The advantage that you gain in games plyed for the Senators disappears after the game on the 27th against Dallas. It is at that point that it becomes time to trade into teams who have a heavy schedule after the break. That is why I move my Senators at that point.

Moved Marcel Hossa-> Allison to make use of all my cash. Plan on Thibault->?? on 27th.
Would like to be certain that there will be no Price changes over the 4 day ASB. I'll be on vacation 1/28-2/5 and don't plan on any moves during the break . . . but would hate to miss out on 4 days of RV increases if they do occur.

In response to #16 - Let's take an example. I am planning to go from Alfredsson to Naslund. When is the best day to make the move? 23rd? No. Ottawa plays, Vancouver does not. 24th? Maybe. Ottawa does not play, Vancouver plays Detroit. I hold Alfie. 25th? No. See 23rd. 26th? Maybe. same as 24th; do you want this game against Phoenix, or do you want the Ottawa game against Dallas? This is my planned date to move into Naslund. 27th? No. If you held this long, get the Ottawa game! 28th? If you haven't done it yet, now is probably the time. You can have Vancouver vs. Minnesota and Edmonton, while the other choice is Ottawa against Anaheim and LA (B2B road games). 29th? No. 30th? Up to you; Which game do you want? Feb. 4th? Vancouver plays Pitt, Columbus and Buffalo in the next 4 days. Big dollar gain on the best Vancouver players is expected.
Let me stop there. I see that I am planning to use one trade more than you would; but those Ottawa players will steadily be sold during the period. You will not lose games by keeping Ottawa players, but you will not gain any games either. So if you can upgrade the player, I think you should make the trade - it comes down to the old problem: how much is a trade worth. I am expecting to see some dollar gains, and expecting better points from Naslund. Substitute Bertuzzi if your RV necessitates. I see the same options and choices coming out of any Senator center and going to Morrisson, or if someone wants to get to Koivu that has not yet.
Different strategies for different teams; holding Senators is not a bad choice, but all owners will not make the same choice, and the only way for the Ottawa players' prices to go is down.

After feb. 4th, the canucks play a 4 in 12. They are also 4-3 in the last 3 games. Just some food for thought.

I choose Nedved instead of Lindros, I move Nylander away, he got me some decent production, I'm keeping Jagr and Miller for now, I don't want to blow all my trade in the begening like I did in the last 2 weeks....

Well, I bought Holik and was surprised he's -10K while Lindros is +70K. They play on the same line and Holik is cheaper, what gives???

I think I need a shakeup. My Penguins experiment seems to have finished. Mario never came back, and Kovalev is now worthless for his price.
I'm a bit worried about Tarnstrom. The Pens sked isn't too hot, and the power play stinks right now. If anyone has an idea on his ownership, please post. Only up 170K since I picked him up, but I fear a freefall. Maybe Desjardans or something, have some trades to burn.
I guess I'm also thinking of moving Kovalev and Sanderson into Hejduk and not sure of the other. Maybe Gaborik, but don't know if I want to commit to 4 stud Wingers quite yet.

Just went:
Tkachuk ---> Hejduk (could've pulled this move last night, but decided to hold, for some reason)
Sanderson ---> Jagr (won't gain/loose any games by waiting)

Kovalev > Hejduk
Sanderson...considering a slew of guys. Shorter term guys like a Guerin, Hull, or Jagr. Considering a longer term stud in Murray the machine or Gaborik. Also considering a longer term mid-priced guy in a Zednick or Elias.
It's tough having almost 69 mil. :)

Havlat (Ugh) -> Hejduk (Should've done this last night) Sanderson -> Elias Lalime -> Roloson (Should've done this last night)
Oh well, now I'm set until after the all-star break. (Barring injuries of course.)

Doin' a slew: this should bring me to Feb. 10th with the new guys -MacInnis for Sopel(make up 2 games and $$$) -Stillman for Naslund (2 games) -Sanderson for Langenbrunner (3 games and avoid the hit in lost money, maybe even making some off of 'Brunner)

Today, I'm thinking of going Damitra -> Nylander/Lang or Morrison..
Any thoughts from the great board minds?
Could also trade Thorton for one of them, but I just can't see holding the most consistent TSN scorer on my front line, even with a below average schedule..
