What is everyone thinking about pre-break trades?

I'm moving Turco and Modano on the 30th.. Not yet sure for whom.. Considering:

Modano -> Lang/Morrison
Turco -> Broduer

I'll pick turco back up on the 8th when his schedule improves.

I'm going moving Turco, looks like he will be the big loser tomorrow when everyone jumps onto Hackett. Also gain a game before the break. Gonna hold Modano.

Turco--->Hackett
Redden-->Gonchar

I currently have Hackett & Turco. Turco's probably gonna lose a whole lot of money today, so I'm jumping off early.

Turco-->Brodeur (in the next 11 days its 5 Brodeur games or 2 Turco games. The only downside is, the next game for NJ is vs Det and the next game for Dal is vs Cgy)

Woke up 5 mins before the freeze..got in Turco > Cloutier with 1 minute left. So lucky! missed a 170K hit.

I didn't get to post this morning, because I had time to trade and get to a 6 hour meeting (too long).

I was feeling a huge Turco drop, so even though, I love him against Calgary as apposed to Broduer vs Det. I made the trade today.

Also went Lalime -> Hackett as a pure money trade....

knuble -> kariya on a hunch.

Looks like my Broduer trade worked out great... as did my Lalime -> Hackett move... I have one more trade that I will make before the AS break and that will be.

Modano -> Lang/Forsberg.... Morrison is also a possibility...

Die_Habs.. Good luck on Kariya... I looked at him too. Due to the AS break, he basically has 4 games in 4 days.. I don't have the cash to Knuble-> Kariya and don't want to part with my other wings. Nasland, Hossa, Hejduk....

I agree, I can't give up on mine yet either. Hossa has a 4 in 5 today and Naslund a 3 in 3 tommorrow. Both probably gone after that as I retool toward the stud C's.

I didn't have nasland but choose to go to kariya to differentiate and was not going to pick up nasland because after his 3-4 post ASB there are better schedules afterwards. I am trying to build up trades, it seems to be a good time to do so as there are few studs at centre since lemiuex is injuried.

I've had Nasland for a while and after today's addition, I have 8 trades in the bank. Nasland will be traded on the 8th after his 4 games in 5 days (not counting the ASB).... Because like you said, there are better schedules out there.....

8 trades here as well. Only trade I have planned for post asb is jagr after a few games, a bit of a hole in the schedule.

Extra dampening going on today?

80K the top gainer on the last day before trades? That seems wrong. Usually, when there are tradeless teams, the trades are more concentrated. At least I thought....

smallwhirled,

I doubt that they have time to fiddle with making price changes bigger or smaller on any given day. Given the amount of perceived issues around hockey, golf, basketball, roto baseball getting the Nascar game going, blah, blah. At least, I hope they have better things to do.

True, they've got a lot of things to deal with on a daily basis (TSN). I guess it was spread out a bit, and there was some day trading going on for teams with boatloads of trades on a day w/o many games.

Great minds must think alike. I've made the same moves as Walk - turned Modano into Forsberg and Turco into Hackett. Already had Thornton at center or I would have been tempted to go Modano to Thornton.

Decisions, Decisions.....

Modano -> Forsberg, Lang, Morrison....

Forsberg = the best over the season, but the toughest schedule.
Lang = hottest of late, best long term schedule (2weeks after the break) and a decent short term schedule
Morrison = Best Short term schedule with Pit,cbj and Buf in the first 4 days after the break.

this spot is the one that will become Mario If I decide to get him... So the question is when to get Mario and then who to have as his place holder in the mean time... I'm torn between all of them as they all have an upside and a downside

Any thoughts???

I'm probably going to make the conservative pick of Forsberg... hopefully, the Avs will go on a tear to start the second half and start tonight.... Even with the Detroit games looming, he seems like the "safest" bet...

hossa-->knuble
turco-->brodeur
schneider-->macinnis
desjardins-->gonchar

beefing up in goal and on D is the theme of the week for me--need to spend that hacket cash somewhere and i've had enough of schneider's injury problems and the anemic philly offence.

Thus far, I went:
Modano -> Forsberg.

Still possible, but I"m not sure yet.
Hossa -> Jagr

Also went Modano-->Forsberg.

Bookie- I already have Jagr and Hossa, but if I didn't have Jagr, i'd consider trading Hossa. He just hasn't produced lately and i'm feeling a large price drop today.

Simbot, I here you on the drop, I don't know how large it will be since he does play today, but with refreshed trades and his 4 game goalless streak, it could be a big loss...

I have Nasland, Hossa, Hejduk and Knuble...

My hesitation is twofold.. One Hossa would reward my dropping him with a hattie and 2 assists. And Injury threat.. If someone gets hurt it costs me 2 trades....

I think I'm going to hold and hope the losses aren't too big... Same with the surefire Jagr gains...

Of course, now I just read on rotoworld, where Jagr will be double shifted after the AS break increasing to 25 minutes a game, which IIRC is what he used to get in Pittsburgh.... Now I may just make the move after all....

Makes sense to me, bookie. Traded Hossa to Jagr, too. Down to 1 trade on my Sublime team. Crazy, crazy trading!

Aaaaaaaaah, it's just a game.

Just a game!

I skipped it, and with 2 minutes to the trade deadline, I guess I'll have Mr. Hossa tonight... hope he breaks out of the mini slump

Hossa -40 Jagr +30... Glad it wasn't a huge swing.... Now I need Hossa to light it up and Caron to come up big for the Pens.... sorry to all you Jagr holders.. I can't route for a guy that I don't have....
