Subject: Today's "Blue and White" Actions (Feb 2)

Remember the jerseys the all-stars wore last year? Dark blue and dark red looked similar on TV. They're wearing blue and white this year, but I think the old green and purple were more distinguishable. |

Announcer:" Traded before this weekend, now playing for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim -- Sandis Ozolinsh!" *queue crowd cheer*
He must have the weirdest feelings of all. Why can't the management hold on a few days? Are they afraid that he'd get hurt during the all-star game? It screwed him out of the SuperSkills, so that Martin St.Louis went twice in the Breakway Relay. This is just plain weird... trading the hometown fan-voted starter the last game day before the all-star weekend.

Damn. I wish that Hackett trade was made 2 weeks earlier. I could have picked him up and traded him for Heatley straight up (I think) (Heatley's sked is also good for the relevant round of the Yahoo! Playoffs) but Heatley had to get hot beforehand, ya, thanx Dany.
Damn.

What an exciting overtime. Several posts, several rebounds and a ton of huge saves by Turco and Lalime.
Shootout coming up. 5 shooters a piece, and then sudden-death if still tied.
Fedorov dekes, and Lalime saved. Kovalev dekes the same way, and Turco saved the same way. Naslund shoots, and scores off the post. 1-0 West. Heatley shoots sticks sides. 1-1 tie. Guerin shoots top shelf. 2-1 West. Satan goes fivehole and was stopped. Kariya goes top shelf. 3-1 West. Jokinen hits the goal post. West wins.
Now, does Heatley's goal count like the other four? CBC calls it an 8-6 shootout win...

OH NO CANADA
Following Latin singer Jorge Moreno's rendition of the national anthem before the game, ABC cut to a commercial and didn't broadcast the Canadian anthem sung by country music star Paul Brandt. By MARK LONG, AP Sports Writer
That's not right.

TLW,
I didn't see the begining, but ABC should be ASHAMED of there decision not to broadcast the Canadian Anthem. If it is any consolation for those north of the boarder, I like the games when both countries are playing just because of the beautiful national anthem you have.
