Damn, I was warned, but I don't understand benching Giguere today. They;ve got a b2b starting on Tuesday.

Already 5 goals in the first on the Island (and no Hackett!)

NYI - Jason Wiemer (Dave Scatchard and Jason Blake)
BOS - PPG - Glen Murray (Unassisted)
BOS - Brian Rolston (Unassisted)
NYI - Michael Peca (Shawn Bates)
NYI - PPG - Michael Peca (Shawn Bates)

hmmmm, CBS is the only site that is showing the goals. ESPN, NHL, neither of em showed any score...but they both seemed to have stopped working early in the 1st pd.

Hackett has come on in the 2nd period.
Here's the updated boxscore:

PS I know Hackett is on because I'm watching the game. Very entertaining, BTW, lots of action, wide-open and with an edge.

Hackett was only on for a short while.

don't put too much thought into belfour's numbers tonight... the ref pretty much decided the game tonight.. just look at the boxscores and look at the penalties and you'll see perhaps one of the most poorly officiated games in the world.

the refs will need a police escort out of toronto tonight. I'm sorry, but that was a pathetic excuse for officiating.

I watched the game Synergy and I agree that it wasn't Belfour's fault, but I'd hardly blame the refs. From watching many Habs games, I can say with certainty that the Leafs just weren't trying out there for two periods. They turned it up a bit in the 3rd, but they were pretty lack-luster all night. I guess they were worn out from beating up the Habs last night.

rogue.. I'll agree that the first two periods they were screwing around.. i think getting snowed in at montreal late last night had something to do with it.
whatever. it happens..
the first game back syndrome.
i wouldn't say the leafs are about to head into a slump either based on this.
they have a habit of not trying against "weaker" teams.

Hejduk with 2 goals so far. Not bad for a guy who's playing hurt!

I'd like to know what Belfour said to the ref to pick up his 12 penalty minutes.

Most sites still haven't updated to the correct BOS/NYI boxscore. I still haven't found one that reports the correct plus/minus for all the players either. I hope TSN has right info from the game. (more importantly, i hope they don't omit Joe Thorntons assist ;-) )

Smallwhirled - you had Belfour and Thornton with negative numbers, and did not have Hejduk, Sykora and Tugnutt - all big producers last night.

You're right about Thornton. I remember checking the numbers on kafenatid.net earlier and seeing Joe with -16, in fact the sortables page still has -16 for him. They must have adjusted the box score later (his assist and +/- ?)

Don't whine, smallwhirled.

My basic team got 308 SWP and dropped from 553rd to 1122nd. Now that sucks.
