Subject: Belrour -> ????

OK, What's everyone doing with Eddie... I like his schedule and think he'll bounce back, but I don't think I want to take the price hit... The two guys I like the most are:
Kolzig. had a good last out and plays 4 struggling teams this week.
Snow.. Cheap would allow me to upgrade Antropov..... But when is Osgood coming back????
Any thoughts... |

I know I spelled his name wrong, but gees, I thought I'd get some comment... I'm going with Ollie the goalie....

Why would you do Belfour->Kolzig now? Belfour is playing Carolina next, while Kolzig is at New Jersey. If you really want to do it, wait till Sunday, then you can get Kolzig playing Carolina.
But I wouldn't dump Belfour at all, he's been good all year and has a good schedule coming up - his only really tough opponent this week is Ottawa, and those are usually low-scoring matches anyway.

I was undecided, but I'm going to hold. When looking over the Toronto schedule I saw one tough game in Detroit followed by 3 easier games, so the shelling wasn't entirely unexpected. (Ok, I figured he might lose, but not with a -60.) Still, this is probably better than a simple 3 or 4 goal loss. Quinn was pissed after the game, so you can bet they're going to be practicing like hell today.
Its kind of like Atlanta and Columbus last night... they got shelled by Vancouver and LA a couple nights ago, and came back with two strong performances. When you lose a close game its 'meh, we tried'. When you get destroyed its 'Ok, we really got to get our act together.' At least I hope so...

Here's another idea: Belfour->Tugnutt. Tugnutt is cheap, plays tonight (one of only 2 games, so should see some price gain), and is going against Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Chicago - 3 weak teams. Turco isn't due back for another 1-2 weeks. Disclaimer: I own him :-)

I'm not sure if it's time to kinda give up gaining RV. Earlier, I'd trade Belfour, but I'm so bad at picking goalies that I'm thinking of holding him.

Vlad two points.
I agree that Belfour has been solid much of the season and has a decent schedule coming up, but 2 of his last 3 were -63 each..... that in conjunction with 36% ownership (as of yesterday) Leads me to believe he will drop sharply today....
Second Point, Will Tugnutt play b2b.. He did play last night, so I'm thinking he will sit today.

smallwhirled, I never completely stop watching my roster value. It's not as important at this point, but I try not to tak obvious losses.. And I think this will be an obvious loss.... So I'm torn

I just can't do it. I'm going to try and bank a few trades. I see nothing that I like.

well, I've been trying to find a way to get Naslund without sacrificing Palffy or Hejduk, and now I can
Belfour-->Tugnutt Roberts-->Naslund

12 trades and sticking with belfour. I have found that the schedules of late have made it hard to trade any of my players, let alone try and differientiate. Maybe its just me though and the pressure of maintaining my position.

I went to Kolzig, too. Just not comfy with a goalie who has gotten shelled two of the last three games out and may fall in price and, more importantly, playing time. While I am not at all meaning to say that I think Belfour could lose his #1 job, I would not be surprised if Kidd got the next start, or the start after that, to kinda give Eddie a break after last night's onslaught. Hey, what do I know, chances are he starts both and gets one shutout and another 30 save 1 goal game.
Fickin' goalies!

Hey Scott... Yeah, I haven't been too compelled to make moves either and I'm trying to catch you... I've had a minislide from 37 to 47 though and feel like my team is stagnant....

Well, you were right about Belfour dropping today. Looks like people have little patience for short-term underperformance regardless of long-term records or upcoming schedules.
We'll see if Tugnutt plays tonight. Who is his backup and has he played at all so far?

Gives me a good opportunity to upgrade Kariya into Jagr for some more punch up front. I'll go to Voukon and see if he can stay amazing. Slim pickens out there in te goalie land for mid-priced/cheapies.
Avs have a little 1 in 4 coming, I'm probably going Forsberg > Sundin/Morrison > Forsberg..looking ahead.

For the Col 1 in 4 im thinking Hejduk ---> Naslund, and then maybe undetermined ---> Hejduk once the turbulance is over.
I plan to just hold Naslund as long as i can. He's my favorite player and i haven't owned him once all year. ;-)

I went with Skudra until Cloutier returns. Cheap, and it couldn't be any worse than holding Giguere while Gerber got his 2 starts in a row.

Jagr needs to start doing something!

Went Hejduk -> Palffy.. He doesn't play today, but I like him best over the next two weeks.. I will go Kariya -> Hejduk on Wednesday....
Decided to hold Forsberg... Thought about Blake and Morrison, but didn't want to use two trades on this... I'll take the price hits....
