0 Subject: Your Ultimate Div. Race. Heating up or Giving up?

I'm finally starting to move in my division. Started out 2 days late and last in the division. Now I'm 6th. Division rank is 48th.

Started moving up my division but I think I have left it too late to catch the leader.

Here's the advantages:
1. +$500 RV
2. 8 trades compared to 0
Disadvantage:
1. behind by 1800pts.
2. Season is getting shorter by the day.

Do I have enough time to make this up?
I'll keep you posted on the progress

I'm lukewarm right now.

1800 is a ton of points. But anything is possible. If you have a solid defense, I would not touch any of them any more and just work on trade management and focus on some key moves. Pray for luck as well.

Yeah, definitely gotta pray.

One way to make up ground really quickly is stud up and differentiate at D. Mac and Lidstrom act as extra wingers, so try and use that to your advantage. If you can get by with a cheapie at goalie, you can use your trades efficiently and continue to gain ground. The quicker the better, though, to put extra heat on the guy in first...then he'll buckle.

My division is a joke. If you are going late, purchase or use your credit the morning you start to get included with all later teams, and you're looking at a probable cakewalk. Unless you get included with a late gurupie, but that has never happened to me.

Another thing to consider that has worked for me when the season is winding down: Look towards teams that are right in the midst of the playoff hunt. Worked for me last year, espeically in goal. My the lord be with you. :)

Yea, teams that have already clinched their division don't tend to play their big lines that much. I am in a similar boat and I intend to concentrate on teams that need every game. They tend to use their big boys as much as they can. Vokoun etc.

If it helps, I was 917 pts out of my division, after tonight, I'm 328pts out. I have about 2.5mil advantage and maybe 2 more trades than him. Should be tough, he's got 3 teams all in or around the top 100. (JTuck)

One of my teams was 1200 points behind the leader 3 weeks ago. It's now 240 points behind.
1800 points is a lot but it can be made up. My team ranked 17th overall was over 3000 points behind Honkku when that team was ranked #1 overall earlier in the season. KWizard3 is now only 344 points behind Honkku.

I was 2000 back of the leader in my division a month ago, now i'm 700 pts up. It helped that his roster value was almost 20 million less than mine! :)

Not going near so good for me. The best I can describe it as it looks like I'm rolling over and playing dead while watching the gap between me and the first place managers widening each and every day. There's always next year;-)

I'm leading my division TSN_2734 (ranked 96) by 3800 points right now....hmm not so funny. Don't know what the other guys are doing, but they seem to keep trading every week.

Oh Oh . . . 3 weeks ago I led my 3 Divisions by approx 800,1100,1400. Now I lead by 500,1100, and last night fell to 2nd in the other!

Got to get back in the swing . . stuck with Mario too long, took Yzerman and have ignored Tugnutt . . . . all bad moves.

Moved into 4th spot in the Division after last nights 434 performance.

Overall Division Rank: 51st
My Division Rank: 4th
Points Behind leader: 1500
Trades Remaining: 4
RV: + 1 Million

This is very challenging. I waited way to late to make a run.

The bottom five teams in our division have banked a combined 300 trades.

I have four teams, 1st place in two, 2nd in one, and the other I've left for dead in the ESD NHL division.

C. Superfreaks - I'm in that same division you speak of. I've clawed my way back to <200 out of first.

Still up by about 1700 in one division, and my cohort, bookie must be up by about 3000 in another. In the vaunted Eat, Sleep and Drink NHL division, I have slipped from 5th to 10th over the past month and am in a miserable slump.

Giving up my race in the ESD NHL division! Have about 20 trades but no time left to manage this year.

It's the same every year, a long break somewhere in between. This year I have to make a work trip to Greensburg. My first visit over the Atlantic! Looks like it will be two months in the middle of nowhere. True?

Im ahead by about 1200 TSNP in one auto-division. (I believe CH has a team in this division.)

In the ESD NHL division, like walk I've slipped from 5th to 8th after a worse-then-miserable slump. Going to try my best to finish in the top 10 there.

In my other auto-division I just took over 1st last night, and lead him by FOUR TSNP. I have an $8 million roster value advantage over him, but he's been hanging in the top 100 all year. He finally dropped out a couple days ago, and I caught him. This one is going to go to the wire.
