something that could make sense for both the oil and the leafs is tucker for jason smith. Smith's contract is a bit large for edmonton to handle, and the oil can use 2nd line scoring from tucker, and it'd shore up the leaf's defensive end.

From TSN.ca (March 10):
The Ottawa Senators added some more toughness to their lineup Monday, picking up Rob Ray from the Buffalo Sabres for future considerations.
In another deal, the Dallas Stars picked up defenceman Lyle Odelein from the Chicago Blackhawks for Sami Helenius and a draft pick.

Rumor: If Burke deal doesn't get done then Osgood to the Blues. That is the deal I think will happen. DiPietro was recalled after just being sent down too. I know alot of people don't agree, but I wouldn't mind seeing Osgood in goal for the Blues. In 75 playoff games he is 41-29 with a 2.2GAA. He is a free agent after this year so he wouldn't have to be a long term commitment.

Hmmm, boy I liked Dvorak, too, but ever since they traded Hlavac, and he hurt his knee last year, he has been a dud. Too bad, but he is young and he will rebound.
Carter is more a natural scorer though, and should do well. Unfortunately, it's really too late for a team without chemistry and without games in hand.
We'll see who is on this real life fantasy team of our's next year, J (hint hint, it won't be Sather).

you know what scares me, walk.
Since Sather knows his job is on the line, whats to stop him from trading Blackburn for say....some old guy who may help save his job this year.
Personally, I'd rather have them trade these guys for some draft picks and young guys and throw in the towel for the season

Good point, J. If Sather were to to that kinda thing, trade Blackburn, I would be so very bummed. He has already crushed the kid's soul, starting him 17 consecutive times, and then using him as sparingly as can be since then.
Hopefully, he does not make such a move in the next two hours. I think what Sather does not realize is that he needs some big, stay at home defensemen, to balance the 4 offensive-minded and one head-hunting defensemen he currently has (Poti, Malakhov, Leetch, Mironov and Kaspairitis). I imagine next year Darius and Boris are gone, and maybe they will have some more regular types in their place, but for now, as long as we give up high quality shots and odd-man rushes, we aint beating NJD and Ottowa and the likes to get into the playoffs.
Who knows who else will be gone next year. If Sather stays, and I doubt it, Holik might go because he is a very outspoken critic of the rangers offense-first system (and I think Holik is correct, and boy he is solid). Nedved, to me, has played well this year and seems to be more physical than ever, probably because he is not the first line center anymore. I hope he stays to skate with Bure or Kovalev next year. Messier will retire. Leetch should demand a trade, but he is a NYer and will stay.
And Lindros. Of all things. My biggest fear, of course, with him was his health. Who would have bet that he would give us pretty much two full seasons? But nooooo, this year, he is invisible. Invisible! The guy should have 70 points, with 30 goals in the equation, but he is like producing like a 3rd line center, who does not play tenacious two-way D. The only players on this team that are worthy of accolades this year are Leetch, Poti, Holik (IMHO, I love this guy) and Dunham. I could add others who have played "well," but these guys are the only one's who have truly stepped up.
10 SOG last night for Leetch (and one goal disallowed by a ref who must have relatives in south florida).

I don't know anything about the salary of the players, but Carter for Dvorak is a no-brainer for the Rangers. But strange thing happen when players start playing in the big apple.

I would consider Kasparitis as a big, stay at home defenseman. That's not what the Rangers need. The Rangers need team chemistry, not any more players. You can't trade for a player and expect your team to suddenly play cohesively.
Ban the Rangers from trading and signing players for a year and we'll see how much better it'll be this time next season.

good point on your ban, TLW, but wrong on Darius being stay at home. He gets caught being on the ice for more bad goals against than any of our offensive minded D-men cause he is frequently straying from his position to make the big hit. We need a "normal" Dman or two, you are right, we need to just stay with the same bunch for a while. It's a vicious circle!

J Van Ryn is a defenseman for the Blues that played alot last year and I thought he would be starting this year. I'm not sure why he hasn't played more other than Jackman doing so well.

Milbury just doesn't know how to hang on to his young talent. First Luongo, now Torres. I guess Ninnimaa is worth it, but only if they turn that 2nd round pick into something good.
