0 Subject: Basic Playoffs Up

I set up 'Rotoguru' division.

How does this look:

Center
Peter Forsberg 9.32 (One of the best playoff performers around)

Wingers
Tony Amonte 4.15 (Philly may spark him back up, and at 4 million, and a great team, you never know)

Eric Daze 4.11 (Good enough price, was torn between him, LeClair, and Recchi. Maybe I'll switch)

Defencemen
Chris Chelios 2.79 (Seems to play well in playoffs, Wings should go atleast a couple rounds)

Dmitri Yushkevich 1.08 ($1 million, playoff experience, good team)

Goalie
Chris Osgood 5.25 (Very risky sleeper, but has alot of playoff experience, Saint Louis may be what he needs to get out of his slump)

Extra Attacker
Doug Gilmour 3.17 (I expect him to perform, because he has loads of playoff experience, and should be very happy to be on his former Leafs)

Feedback would be great...

In the rules they say they will dole out 10 trades at the start of the post season, but make no mention of weekly trade dolage. Is there going to be a weekly alowance of trades or not?

Oh, and nice roster. But doubt CHI will make the playoffs so you may need to move Daze. Here's what i threw together a couple mins after i joined:

Demitra, Pavol STL

Nolan, Owen TOR
Tanguay, Alex COL

Robidas, Stephane DAL
Pronger, Chris STL

Joseph, Curtis

Roberts, Gary

So far im likin' it already.

I think everyone should get tanguay.. if forsbergy is going to do good den dat means that tanguay is going to get a point.....
tanguay is cheap for a top line player..

Don't forget that if the Ranger's got a chance at the Playoffs, Leetch and Blackburn could be really interesting also.

Too few games remaining. Isles have 3 more games than the rangers, and it's not like my powerhouse rangers are beating everyone in site. Losing 2-1 to Florida at home was a huge bust.

Tonight they have Ottowa and then they have the Devils, whom they never beat. Does not look good for broadway blues.

Sather changes his lines tonight, too (according to the NY Daily News):

Kovalev, Bure and Messier
Lindros, Lundmark and Holik
Carter, Barnaby and Nedved

yah playoff hockey is exactly the same as the season hockey except that u start off with 10 trades and only have 10 trades to use unless u buy it from your pocket.

is it normal to be able to see your divisional opponent's rosters? I mean.. you only have 10 trades, so wouldn't the initial roster be your only advantage?
and if they could see it.. couldn't they just copy?
I mean, I don't mind sharing with rotoguru, but there's bragging rights at stake here with my other friends!

here's a question to someone who has played..
how big are the price changes at the end of playoff rounds?
ie.. some guys get eliminated etc? if they are less than 250k I may wait till a round is completely over for the sake of earning points for late games.. eg.. game 6 and 7 in long series..

I dont think they do price changes.

There are price changes everyday.. yeah if a series is over then those 2 teams will have players dropping like hell the next day..
so if you have detriot and they swept a team.. dat means that detriot has no games until round 1 is done.. so ther players will drop considerably

They make no mention of player price changes in the "Learn To Play" section. Whereas, the Ulimate version of it does. I don't think prices will be changing in the playoff pool.

I'm kind of new to this game and haven't played since they "sold" trades to people

do you guys buy trades? or are we not allowed to (in the division Rotoguru)

Personally, I don't buy trades because they wont accept my debit card, and I am too young for a credit card. And no, you are not allowed to buy trades in the Guru division in most cases.

man.. is this standard to crawl out of the gate in this pool? It's like the points are barely trickling in. Well, i haven't played the 30 million version before, so I don't know what's considered "par" for a roster of that size.
