Subject: TSNP Calculator and TSN Sortables

As many of you may have noticed, the TSNP Calculator and TSN Sortables for Hockey have been taken down from Kafenatid.net. This is because NHL.com decided, with just 5 days left in the season, to make a major overhaul to their Scores page. While it doesn't look major from what you see, I assure you that it's major from what my code "sees". Anyhow, right now the fix that is needed is too much of an investment of time for 4 days worth of stats, especially since it appears that the secondary pages were also changed. Sorry, it's just the facts. I will be reviewing the code a bit over the next couple of days to see if I can find an easier fix than what I've seen upon my initial review of things, but hope is not high right now. Again, sorry. |

Thanx for letting us know the problem. I hope many of the Gurupies have donated to Kafenatid to help defray your expense in providing us with the data in the sortables and the calculator, both of which are invaluable tools in the playing of the TSN game.

Thanks KKB for providing the Sortables all year. I used them for pretty much every trade I made. I've already got all but 1 of my last trades planned out, so this change wont affect me too much. (And hopefully won't affect anyone else too much either.)

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Ok, it seems that NHL.com decided to go back to their old format. Apparently, they have 10-year-old children who change their mind about what they like every other day running the site. Anyhow, the TSNP Calculator is back up (for now) and so are the TSN Sortables. The price update from yesterday is currently running and should be finished within the next couple of minutes, so maybe wait until about 7:10 - 7:15 ET before using them, or at least verify the price through the player details page. Sorry about all this, but I guess that's the fun of it all... or something.

Thanks for you diligence in keeping these wonderful tools available KKB. I fully understand your frustration as websites change their format. I remember fighting ESPN as I tried to keep some SWP calculators running in Excel a few years back in the faceof ESPN website changes. I remember it wasn't fun;-)..
