Subject: NHL Radio - "Going right to left"?

I've only really started listening to hockey on the radio on NHL.com radio this year (when I started playing fantasy hockey!) - what does "going right to left across your radio" mean? I hear it all the time. |

it means that from the perspective of the announcers you can tell which team wants to score on which goal.
IE - if a guy has a breakaway heading towards the "left" side of the arena, he's going from right to left on your radio

Oh, I see, they're establishing perspective so their following commentary makes sense. Still seems silly to me though. Rather than saying toward the "left" side, why don't they say "toward the Boston end" or whatever?
Anyways thanks for clarifying what has been a source of confusion for me, J.
