Some advice please.....do you go with 2 hefty paid goalies? If ya go with schedule then aebischer has to wait a while which means you can't go much cheaper than 6 mil for either. That takes a hefty chunk of the cash outta there. Is it the strategy generally to go with 2 premier keepers or no. I followed the forum last year but was only in basic and there was alot of talk about jumping in with three stud centers. I'm just looking for some strategy help all. Please help. |

Check out the "smallworld is up" thread for some advice. If Giguere and Turco are unsigned for the beginning of the season, you will have some cheap options. There's usually one expensive starting goalie who gets hurt in preseason opening up a slot for a cheapie goalie.
Rarely do I see gurupies draft two stud goalies. It ties up too much cash. Perhaps one stud goalie and one $5M or under goalie.

Don't go "3HM" (3 headed monster) at center unless you have the RV to support it. Last year, it become a popular option when many of the stud centers were playing to thier worth, and the selection of overachieving bargain centers with good schedules became thin. Add to the fact, the abundance of cheap Goalies performing well (for a majority of the season, i might add) and you had many managers that could afford 3HM...
Note: Anyone surprised to see Forsberg and Lindros listed at W? As if the talent pool at Center wasn't thin enough already...
