I missed half the draft so some were computer picked. Now, I just got this trade offered to me

Kovalchuk and Peca for Sakic

I was wondering you all thought about it. I know Sakic is a lot less durable than either players, but he will be on powerstacked Aves. On the other hand, I dunno what the comp was thinking drafting Kapanen so early. So Kovalchuk could be a good fit on the wing. Both players are bad at +/- but their PIM should be extremely helpful to my team. What do u think?

If I were you, I'll add a player and ask for a 2-for-3 deal. Havlat is in for a long long long holdout, so you can pretty much drop him. That means you need a winger bad. The problem with Kovalchuk is that his +/- is going to kill your +/- single-handedly. I won't take this deal as it is. If you're going to trade Sakic, make sure you improve your wingers more than this deal does.

I don't know enough about the scoring but it seems to me that it's a good deal. Sakic although on a power team could get screwed if the goals come from the other line and if on the power play the other studs put it in. I don't know, I'm a little worried about the avs players cause with sooo many good players on the team, who will get the points. You could see Sakic have a solid +/- but when Kariya scores he is assisted from selanne and blake for example. I'd trade it!

I made the following changes

Kapanen -> Jeff O'Neil
Conroy -> Nagy

Nagy will boost up the PIM. But I think its overall good change as well.

do you guys see any weakness in my team?

I just got offered this

Morris and Morrison for Sakic and Andrei Markov

This would better PIM and PPpts for my team.

It is unclear whether the Addition to the aves will help Sakic's pts or decrease it due to ice time issues. But Morris prob going to benefit with all those hype players in front.

What do u think?
