Marian Gaborik

After a bitter contract dispute, restricted free agent Marian Gaborik has signed a multi-year deal with the Minnesota Wild. Terms of the contract were not available but the Wild were offering a three-year, $9.45 million US contract while Gaborik was seeking $13.5 million US over the same period.

Thank goodness. I needed him in my pen and paper hockey pool. I took him with the last pick.

From Rotoworld: "It is being reported that the deal is worth around $10 million in base salary over the 3 years, with an additional $5 million available in bonuses over the same time period. Gaborik led the Wild with 30 goals and 65 points last season and is one of the brighter young stars in the NHL. Hopefully he will be able to return to form in short order, and should still be able to produce 60-65 points the rest of the season. Activate him as soon as you can if you own him."

this posted yesterday in rotowire. Gaborik picked up plenty of playing time in Slovakia during his holdout and was already skating with the Wild Friday afternoon. The Wild play Saturday against the Capitals, and because the game is a home contest, there's probably a decent chance he'll be in the lineup. This is huge news for Wild fans and Gaborik owners who have been patiently waiting. Plan on having him in your lineup soon.
