Its trading day again today....tons to talk about !!!

Teams with good scheds coming up :
* ATL, Will Kovalchuk keep scoring without Savard in the lineup
* CAR, who plays their ?
* VAN, top line on fire lots of points to make (7 games in 2 weeks).
* CLB, starting a good sched on friday
* NYR...Messier scores...2nd alltime !

So I think it is time to grab players from the rangers... I think they might be on to some wining. Contrary to colorado. Colorado just might be having the same problem as the rangers. Tons of big guns not playing as a team and with an average goaler.

What about those 2 injured players : Savard and Zetty. Those where excellents picks that made plenty of points and cash. I would figure that it might help to differenciate teams among us.

Goalie situation : it is hard to find a good priced goaltender. Eshe is superbe replacing Hackett, Theo is up and down on a bad club, Lalime is struggling lately, Giggy might be waking up, Nurminen might start losing without Savard up there, Aebisher is very average.... Who to pick up ?

Anyways, good luck with youre Trading !!!

Rangers have a 3-4-3-4
Florida have a 4-3-4

I picked up Vasick yesterday but am going to have to cross my fingers as I would have rather had Ollie Jokinen but couldn't afford him.

I have knabby, cloutier and passsienm (spelling) as my goalies on all 3 of my teams.

According to the sortables, Bulin should be good for this week , passinem good for a long term hold, and kolzig should be good for a 2 week hold.

With no one clearing doing well, I think it is time for me to suck it up and bank some trades. I like to set my teams up for 2-3 week holds except for 1 spot -> this week it is guerin and arnott on one team that will see a short life on my team.

R. Niedermeyer-> Vasicek. Vasicel has made $.18 during a 0-in-3 schedule. He figures to go up another $.12 today and $.14 tomorrow. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Ugh, first Lalime, then Khabi. I suck at picking goalies! My pick of Stillman doesn't look so hot either, although they still have 4 in 7.

Went with Vasicek and Jokinen yesterday. Its nice having a big trade buffer, I'll be back up to 10 trades in 35 minutes.

I wanted to go Savard to Morrisson but can't afford him. I need a C for $6,370,000 or less. Maybe I'll do Vacisek.

Go Jossipy...Go Jossipy...Go on the road my dear train or may I say Friend...

I made spezza--> Jossipy prior to the trade deadline...

now I have 5 trades...need to get out of Shanahan and Yzerman...I'll wait to see tonight's big pointers...and moove tomorrow...

Jokinen and Kovalchuk are tempting...
Kovaliev may be good along with Messier and Holik

As for goaltending...very difficult...I 'll keep Lalime and Nurminen for now and wait untill next game...The Sens have to win, the are simply to powerfull...Aebisher is not a good goalie...wish Roy was still there!

As for defense, Souray is a keeper...

Have a good day!

I´m playing basic. but players are the same.

One more cheap center I have been looking is Chris Simon,NYR. Lot of penalty munutes(66) and desent scoring. And NYR has that 11 in 21 schedule.

I think I will still hold Vasicek :-) at least $$.

Goalie situation is difficult. Having Aebicher but cant see good longtern alternative. Nurminen has been good, but Atlanta is not on same shape. And Savard missing...

What you think of McLennan? If I take him, it will release 4M$ elsewhere. But is dificult to chance back to some more expensive goalie, need two trades once more.

Mayby better to save trade and wait.
On wingers Valeri Bure comes back to action rotoworld says to floridas no. 1 line.

What u think? is it going to click with Jokinen and Hagman?

Bure very well may click. He's burned me in past years, but I'm convinced that Jokinen is a real stud now, so he should be carried by Jokinen.

I personally like McClennan, but I've always been huge on the big name fowards while milking out some cheapie goalies. Calgary can only win by playing defense, and he plays pretty much every game.

Zidlicky is the only guy in danger at the moment with a trade date in a few days.

I feel that Arnot is also in danger as he had 3 days off starting on the 9th, no?

In addition, Khabibulin has a 1 in 8 starting on the 12th, so he definitely has to go. I am finding it difficult to easily determine goalie replacements in this early juncture. Maybe Thibeault, maybe Lalime, maybe Aebischer (but I do not think he is very good). Maybe Nurminen, but he has many road games, and I am not confident in the W's. Maybe Cloutier. I guess if I had to rank my top two to replace Khabi, it would be Cloutier and Thibeault, but I am also keen on Lalime.

I also have Dunham, and he is a hold barring the extent of his groin injury. Always something.

Goalie thoughts, anyone?

I'm in the process of converting my best team to McClennan. Probably from Khabibulin at the end of this run.

Here's my rationale:
Calgary has to play D to stay in games.
McClennan plays pretty much every game.
I feel like 40 SWP/gm is enough for 2 mil at goalie.

I've always been big on big Fowards and cheap goalies. I was Roloson's biggest fan last year once Manny went down, he was my secret weapon really. I've always been big on offense and feel like I can make up plenty of points with stud wingers.

I can only think Vancouver is continuing to play Cloutier because he has the hot hand....I have him, luckily. But a loss might put him back into a little more of a rotation with Hedberg as he's a halfway decent backup IMHO.

Arnott will see losses next week, I'll have extra trades on my team that has him....sorry, left him out.

Yep, Arnott has a 3 in 10 coming up, and Khabi/Stillman will need to go on my team too. Add in Zidlicky and thats four guys who probably have to go soon. I'm definitely doing Khabi -> Mclennan, which will give me the cash to go to anyone with my other three dudes. I have Lalime as my other goalie, and Ottawa has an awesome schedule coming up. We're not quite into it yet, but will start it next Tuesday.

Yzerman. Did not make the money that Jokinen movers made, but feel that Detroit has a more potent offense and that points-wise, this would be the wiser choice. At least avoided the $80k drop.

I think both are good picks. I choose Jokinen because I noticed that a good chunk of yzermans production of late was penalties. The future games will determine which one is the better pick, I also though about Robitaille and it looks like many others did as well.

November 9th,

Czerkawski -> Nash?

I stupidly went Arnott > Vasicek on a team today without realising the better pickup was Robatille.

Oh well, Vasicek the top gainer again. No problem though, that team has 14 trades.

Anyone have more than 1 team that is using different strategies that has an A team already established this early? My A team is leaps and bounds ahead of my other teams and I'm spending all my time on that team. Same thing happened in baseball where I spent all my time on my A team and my B team was a joke.

It depends how well McClean does these next few weeks, but holding him looks like a huge trade saver for me as he's popular again.

Also, using last year's standings 11/8 ....the top RV was 57.8, and if you were above 56, you were really making some money. Already over 60 million this year and 56 is pretty average at this point. Looks like RV will play more of a role at this rate.

Good data on the RV, thanks smallwhirled. I chewed up a lot of trades today, 4, leaving me with 4 and likely having to move Zidlicky on Sunday.

I moved Kaberle at D to Pitkanen because Frantisek does not play (benched 3 games in a row is enough for me).

I moved both of my goalies in a rare double-swap, Dunham because he does not play (joke, but the sore groin thing has fooled me twice already and with the flyers coming and a chance or reinjury, I could not hold anymore). Dunham to MCLennan. I then moved Khabibulin to Lalime as I figure that Grahame will get one of TBs b2b's and that we'd see a price drop on Khabi today. I like Lalime and MCLennan for the next coupla weeks.

Then, Arnot would have to go soon anyway, but after two lame games, and only one more before the 3 in 10, I moved Jason to Yzerman in an equity saving move. Stevie, keep those knees going!

Hi Guys,

I traded Lalime to Brodeur before today's deadline...

Lalime is not playing well enough...I'll come back to him later on...

Hope that Brodeur will do good...If not Ill trade him early next week.

I also went with lang

What should we do with Bonk...loosing money today, I'm not happy.

Have a good weekend

Funny. I traded into Lalime and you traded out of him. I like his schedule and team and trust his play will rebound. We now face each other tomorrow night.

Bonk I intend to hold unless there is some major sell off. He is a good value, and player on a good team with a good schedule. Staying the course.

I have Bonk on one team, and am definitely holding. The time to sell IMHO was last week. His schedule is great and I expect a rebound. Its also not like he hasn't had his chances this week, or lost ice time.

Too, he's only gained 200K on the year, and his losses barely made the list. Its not like he's a former train waiting to colapse.

I like ottawa players on 11/20, until then I believe there are other more attractive players. Although, I would probably be hesitate to trade one, but I hate ever holding a player with a 1 in 4 and Ottawa has 2 of those untill the 20th.

Thats when I'd buy into any Ottawa players too, but starting on the 11th they have 4 games in 7 days. I'd have a hard time trading a good player on a top team just a few days before that, even if they have a 1 in 4 until then.

I'm looking at moving Czerkawski -> Tanguay. Only 3 in 10 for Mariuz... My other option would be to move Lucky Luc, who also has a 3 in 10. No sense keeping both though, one of them is going.

I'm going to keep Khabi another 3 days, since they play two more games and he just came off a shutout. My desired option is Mclennan, who only plays one game during that time, but 3 in 4 once Khabi's ridiculous 1 in 8 starts.

Went Cloutier > McClennan and Lucky Luc > Forsberg.

Cloutier has been very consistant for me, but I really wanted Forsberg and he allowed me to get Forsberg. Both Pasi and Cloutier are more so-so goalies on teams that are winning now though, and I don't really have the trades to throw around.

The beginning of the season has really been all I could've asked for though. Didn't get up to 14 WWR until the last week of the season last year. Everything I touch turns to gold kinda like baseball 02. Hopefully this momentum gets me up to the top before too long.

Yeah, I probably shouldn't have called Pasi "so-so". He's better than so-so and he's leading a young team to a ton of victories right now. But, he's still not an elite goalie, IMHO.

That's what you'll get out of McClennan, and most cheapie goaltenders. McClennan is going to play a lot of Calgary's games and he's cheap. Personally, I like offense and big fowards, I have 0 shutouts for example. McClennan allowed me to afford Forsberg's 4 in 7. Even with a few bad games, I'll take the lumps and try to make it up with big time fowards.

I guess what I'm saying is, if you can't take the occasional crappy games, then McClennan is not your guy.

I don't know about you guys, but I am getting trigger happy with Vasicek. He has made a great deal of money while producing jack.

I wish I could look into the future and see that Spezza will be producing, or wish that Bonk was a Centre in TSN like last year.

Anyone thinking about Vasicek -> Mclean? Vasicek made alot of money without actually doing anything, but obviously he's going to go down soon. Mclean has a good schedule, and really hasn't gained too much on the year yet, but just like Vasicek I'm not convinced he'll keep it up.

I'll likely move, too, if he starts dropping, but it's not like McLean is doing much better. Clearly, the trade for McLean involves good money, but at this stage, unless he goes on a tear, I fear I have missed this train. If I have to move Vasicek, I might go to Bergeron of Boston.

Keith with a 3 in 4 starting on Thursday, but then a 1 in 5 (and 2 in 8). Still, he is a stud (when healthy) and is relatively cheap for a stud of his calibre. I love this guy. He and Bertuzzi are prototypes for the big, talented, tough North American hockey player.

I would love to pick up Tkachuk but I think it is going to have to wait until another time in the season, I am holding Kavaulcuk and Tanguay based on better schedules. If I went with a cheap goalie, I could switch, but right now a 3 in 4 is not worth the trade this time of year.

Yes, I would love to have Tkachuk, too. But I already have Kovalchuk and Tanguay, and while I could move BONK to Keith, it makes no sense. St.L has a 3 in 4 and then, as I look even further out, a 3 in 11. All told, starting tomorrow, St.L has 6 in 15 while Ottowa has 8 in 15. It certainly is not unheard of for a winger to outproduce someone having only 6 games to 2 (and Tkachuk is more of a stud than Bonk), but it seems there are wiser trades to be made (given the marginal utility of a trade is high).

Stillman for Tkachuk seems to make better sense, in the short run (but I am not a Stillman holder).
