The extent of the Atlanta sell-off is surprising with their 4-3-4 schedule coming up.

It should be interesting to have the league's top scorer as a differentiation pick.

Very lemming like behavior today. Morrison and Kovalchuk big losers surprised me. Pasi was not as surprising to me. I held both Morrison and Ilya as their longer term schedules are strong and they are strong and their alternatives were not very attractive. Lang for his back to back and then four days off? Huh? Morrison to Lang made no sense to me, but did to many others.

Yzerman I already had.

Interesting. It's as if these managers all have 12 trades in the bank and have the luxury to make aggressive moves every 3-4 days. Well, I have 6 and felt that that was too few to play it this way. I did not make $, and even lost a little, but trades are a form of currency, too, and I am glad that I am not poor in terms of money and trades (just points, ha!).

Yeah, whats with dumping Kovachuk for Lang? I am delighted to see that the lemmings jumping ship early I hope that the masses all earn more $$$ while I climb a few spots in the world rankings. This has been my worst year so far, my best team is under 5000 but I'm too embarrased in my other teams to mention.

Biggest lemming move of the year IMHO, and I for one took part in it :)

I had 9 trades on all teams and kept Morrison on one of them. I moved him into Bergeron, and Lang on one team, and moved Vasicek (a must go) into Lang. I decided to pick up and hold Lang because i found that I would only lose 1 game. Crossing my fingers his hot hand will continue tonight and into next week.

Is anyone else having a hard time choosing players this year? Last year with only one team it was hard choosing between this many, this year all my teams look similar because of schedule or lack of hot players.

Yes, this year it is more challenging to choose players, which makes it far more interesting.

Die_Habs: I have one team that had 10 trades, but did not make but one move: Vasicek to Bergeron. I was surprised to read that you moved to Lang...with four days off. Maybe you anticipate points, but surely the cash will be negated starting on Sunday.

Interesting move.

It was purely based on points. I think the cash he will lose will not be that bad, and expect him to regain all of it and more when the schedule picks up. This is all based on a theory that he will produce today and tomorrow and will remain healthy.

Gotcha. I guess then you have thought through your options and are gambling that Lang produces today and tomorrow (but certainly not taking a huge risk since he is the #1 producing center currently). For me, I felt I would rather have Morrison in the long-run, but Lang is hotter. Ilike the Canucks as a stronger team though. It'll be interesting to see what pans out over the next 7-14 days between these two centermen.

I moved Yzerman to lang a week ago and it has been my best moove of the year...points and money -wise.

However, if lang does nothing tonight and tomorrow I will trade out of him and probably go back to Morrisson (which I traded for Jokinen last tuesday)...

It s effectively very difficult this year as every moove seems to be a gamble...

Therefore, I decided to go on the weekend with lailme and keeping brodeur at least untill sunday...

have a good weekend!

I'm not so sure that Lang will lose money after during their break. How many times this season have we seen the lemmings buy a player (Vasicek or Czerkawski for example) during a bad schedule, or on a non-game day? Lemmings rule the money trains, and they don't seem to be following any logical pattern this year.

From what I have observed, I think the masses have largely used the schedule aggressively when making moves and the market has seen those moves. So, I do not believe that we've seen a lot of NON-cheapie players move wildly with weak schedules. I have noticed the following characteristics for $ trains this year:

- the hottest players
- cheap/hot players
- players with good schedules (many games)
- riding the wave of $ trains

The same characteristics we have seen every year, BUT, IMHO, I feel I have seen many $ changes based on the number of games a given player has coming up...more so than what I would have expected. I think the masses who play this game do in fact use the schedule more than post #10 would suggest.

Still, if Lang has a strong weekend, it'll be a good test of my observations vs. those of Silentz. A four-day break is about as long it gets for any team, and if Lang does not see a price fall-out, then I will not be able to say the masses are schedule-savvy. One might argue that most might be tradeless by then, but I don't think so.

Clearly for me, while I would not have liked to have seen Morrison lose so much $ the last two days, and maybe a little more to come, it did not make prudent sense to move him (nor Yzerman) for the quick dollar gains.

a) I would have to "spend" more trades to maximize the roster gains

b) I like the schedules of these two in the near-future.

I kept Kovalchuk on two of three teams, moved him on one team with 9 trades into Hossa. Could well be a mistake, but my ESD team sucks and I figured losses would start, once started they could compound. With the first of two games in Philly, he might even get shut down, who knows. Philly will be leaning on him, we'll see how he perseveres. Worst case, I move Hossa back, a make a few bucks. My typical short-term thinking.
