Subject: Ultimate trades Dec. 10

I will be picking Zidlicky back up, but no other trades for me. I will stick on my Flyers, Bruins, and Wings until Christmas. |

That will make for some nice trade conservation...
I was looking at 12/13 for Zidlicky..
I too could sit on my roster until Xmas, but since I went to Kiprosoff today, I have a nice little money stack, that will allow me to upgrade Aubin, maybe back into Illya.... I'll have to think on it over night...

Zid down another 50K; he is going to make monster money when they start playing again.

Appears Cloutier may not start tonight, from canuck.com forum, no real hard evidence, but beware for Yahoo leagues tonight and future trade possiblities.

Is Zidlicky really all that? Yeah, he was hot, but eventually it all just fades away to being a decent defenceman playing on a crappy team who has come back down to earth. Or not. Whatever. Thanks. Bye! Love ya.

While I'm not sure Ziddy will continue raking in the points, he does have a great schedule starting the 16th (may as well grab him for his LA game the 11th) and he'll gain lots of green. Worth a trade I think, especially if you have a bum like Jillson hanging around...

re 3- Cloutier definitely not playing, slight groin problem, they interviewed him on the score he hurt it in practice.

Yeah, the Zidman has a great sched but so do alot of cheaper D men (I have a perverse love for cheap D). I was just wondering if Zidlicky has become the same bum that Jillson and Czerkawski have become. Probably not, but in the last 5 games he has scored a whopping 27 total TSN Points.

The canucks didn't have time to call anyone up from the farm team in time for the game so they got permission from the NHL to dress a university goalie as their backup goalie. (University of British Columbia) in this case. He didn't see any action but came close after Hedberg almost had to come out of the game.
The catch is the kid has an exam tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. and was studying for the exam in the university library when he got the call.

Traded into Naslund yesterday just in time. Of course, I had to choose from Thomas and Knuble to upgrade, and I obviously didn't pick Thomas. :(

Decided on Thomas -> Straka. I could've waited to get some more cash, to grab someone like Ilya back, but I'd rather save the cash for a D upgrade or to get Brodeur.

Since I had cash from trading into Kiprosoff, I traded my cheapie winger hold spot and went
Aubin -> Illya...
The only downside is that if I have to get out of Kippy, I'll need to make two trades in order to do it...

I'd go with Ryder cause he has more games before Christmas and frees up more money to spend elsewhere. But unless you are trading an injured player, you might be better off holding the trade and picking up Zetterberg when he gets back in a few days.

I have Holik and 1.4 millions in the bank, I need another Center from Holik, my first choice would be Lang, but I'm 100K short.... I have now Thornton and Datsyuk... This morning I traded away Pitkannen for Zidlyk.... I was also looking at Savard as a replacement for Holik but they have a similar sched....
Any advice......

As similar as Savard's schedule is to Holik's over the next few weeks (pretty avarage), Savard is other-worldly right now. He has established himself as a tier 1 stud and he's up around 50 per game for the season now. I can almost guarantee you that Savard will outpoint almost any other option even though his sked is not the best.
In the cheapie department you still have Cammerilli who has been pretty solid for a cheapie lately, and Weiss is still playing with Bure and the Florida schedule heats up.

Tuques - I am moving to Doug Weight; have you got enough cash to get him? I have decided to get out of Rolston and Knuble, and with some of the cash I have left over from going to Kiprusoff, I am going to pick up Tkachuk and Weight. I should be able to hold them well into January.
Yes, yes; to any of you that notice, I did say that I was not going to make any moves until Christmas. But I can't pass up the upgrade!

First Thursday in a long time, where I'm only making a couple of moves. Traded Steve Thomas->Shean Donovan with a money related move droping the injured Thomas(who I had to hold a couple of days too long) and then moved Sheldon Souray->Mathieu Schneider since the Detroit has been so hot lately. This leaves me with a 3 trades in the bank and a small bit of spare cash ($280K).
I suspect the top gainers today will be Donovan, Savard, V Bure, Datsyuk and Zidlicky. Of course Hull, Nash, Klee and Kovalchuk should also gain a bit.

Looking for a Goalie, money's no object, I can't find a long term hold... I have Aebischer and I want to dump him today, I'm expecting a big price drop from him in the next couple of days... My other one is Nurminen...
I was looking at Osgood, but he have 2 B2B in the next 2 weeks, and an average sched... Johnson normaly plays one of the B2B.... The other option could be Brodeur, but a B2B again PHY to start seems a little hod.....
Maybe Turco, Dallas have to come out of their slump, their sched is not that bad...
Any advice...

I went with Osgood based on his opponents and how many starts he has had this year. It was hard for me to find someone. Depending on information on Detroits goalies, I would of recommended Joseph yesterday.

I would think Hackett would be a good pickup; Esche is out, so Hackett should play most if not all of the games. They play Jersey twice this week, and the Islanders twice next week. If I was moving a goaltender right now, that is where I would go. But I would also be prepared to go back to Aebischer when the Colorado schedule gets better.

Tuques, if money is not an object there is no reason not to get Broduer...
My dilemma for the day is Recchi... I hate trading guys on game day, especially when it's the first of b2b... Tkachuk looks good though and also has a b2b, unless he gets suspended tonight for a deliberate high stick or something... I think I'm going to hold and reevaluate Sunday morning....

Decided on going with the Brodeur trade, simple because if I didn't do it today I wouldn't have enough cash to do it later. The trade left me with 140K in the bank, and Khabi going down 60-70K and Brodeur going up 60-70K...

I'm looking at Recchi -> Nash, to help free up cash for D-men in about 10 days. Nash can be a hold all the way to the All-Star break if he does well.
Booke, if I had Roenick I'd hold him for today and then move to Morrison. No sense throwing away a game, even if it is against Brodeur and Co.

I'm not clearing up money for stud D men, if it happens, it happens, if not, I'm not going to worry about it. Blake, Schneider, Pronger look like some solid choices for those who might be able to afford upgrades in the next couple of weeks.
That said, MacInnis, Gonchar, and Lidstrom were almost 40 TSNP/gm players the 2nd half of the season, and the real stud Dmen are only at 30 this year for some reason. Lidstrom is not himself, MacInnis is injured, and Washington stinks this year....maybe that's why. I'm just gonna wing it and see how it develops.

I don't know much about either of the two but have been hearing Orszagh is more of the finnisher on that line. I usally tend to go for that type of player; ie. pottential of big nights points. maybe even a Hatty? probably not.
Price difference isn't that much though.

Yeah, I've been talking to J about this for over a week now. Sundin was a huge part of his team, as well as my B team for a while, and he couldn't pull the trigger when it was more favorable a week ago. Now he's up 1.4 mil in 2 weeks and his ownership, depending on the source, it really high. One of the tougher decisions out there though, I'm just glad that I'm not having this decision, it's eating him up.

It would be hard for me to pull the trigger now too, with the high ownership and all, but the guy keeps putting up the numbers, so it's also hard to not have him... Thankfully, I've had him for almost the entire run up..
Good luck on the decision J...
Now tonight, I need Illya to put up a hattie so all the sellers regret the move and become buyers once again....
