0 Subject: Trades (Basic Fantasy Hockey)

I decided to start a new thread so we can discuss specially about BASIC fantasy hockey trades. The old thread is such a long and should delete. Those games (basic and ultimate) are a bit different: prizes and strategy and so on. So I think this thread could be useful for Basic fantasy players. Btw. I went Recchi > Tkachuk because of long term hold. Letīs see was it worth it...

Contemplating Moving our of Savard. Atlanta appears to be starting a slump. I'll pick him back up as soon as he's clicking again. Since he's my Xtra Attack here are my favorite Options:

Hunter ->Seen this guy play a few games, he's very exiting to watch.

Lang ->With Jagr out a couple with a lacerated hand, I would expect this to hurt Langs productivity a little however.

Roberts -> He's been great in his last 5 games.

Lang -> He did pretty well last night for two periods without Jagr.... He's making his way back to my approved list.

Roberts -> Had him for the last few games and he's been losing $20K a day. My vote is you pick him up so he comes out of gravity ;-)

I was thinking to sell Donovan after fridays game on next saturday. The only problem is that Iīm not sure who to pick instead on him ? I know he goes up in price but Iīdonīt think it last so long anymore. Btw I have made that money already.... So any ideas which winger to pick ? I have money now 6,9 mil + Donovanīs two days gains before saturday, maybe a little bit over 7 million money to use. Any ideas ?

Meikkis - in Ultimate, I have the same thoughts about Donovan. I will be going to Hunter for that train. You might wnat to consider Tkachuk (if you can afford him) or Nagy. Not a lot of ggod options in higher price range.

If I was playing ultimate Hunter could be a good choice. Well it might be in Basic too. In ultimate there are more options because of places for seven attackers and 5 trades per week. We have only four attackers and 2 trades per week. So I have to think wise ;) Every guy is important. Btw we are not buying trades in our league. Our competition (Season 1) ends february I think ? , so there is not so much time or trades to throw away. Our winner, second and third will get money and of course I want to win ;) I have Tkachuk already. I just checked schedule counter for 2-3 weeks and it seems that thereīs lots of teams with lots of games... After that Hunter looks like an interesting option. Etc. Havlat, Bonk, Nash, Nagy and Roberts could be among alternatives. Selanne could be a good choice after 26th too. This is not easy ;)

One possibility is to keep Donovan. Well, now he have 3 days break before 24th and 25th... So after that he has nice schedule. What do you guys think, is this wice ? Or should I use the "sell"-button.... Iīm still not sure who to pick?

Depends on Tkachukīs conditition I might go to Tkachuk > Hossa. I really donīt want to do that, Tkachuk has been great. Iīm waiting for more information about Tkachuk. If heīs only 1-2 games off Iīll keep him.

Meikkis -I would have gone Donovan > Hunter few days ago. Might still go Tkachuk > Hunter instead of Hossa but I donīt want to use one trade. Tkachuk is da man!

Coloradoīs sched is heating up and I was thinking to buy Sakic. Forsberg and Tanguay could be good picks too but a bit risky I think because of their latest injuries. And itīs not sure if they are playing tonight. Do U think that Sakic is the best choice of these or not ?

I found more information and I went > Sakic.

Yeah I was thinking about getting Sakic too but I already have Morrison and Datsyuk in the center position and I will probably trade Datsyuk for Forsberg whenever he gets back.

Last night I did go Tanabe > Sopel

Not taking a chance on Forsberg tomorrow and I wanted to get rid of my Detroit guys so I went...

Datsyuk > Sakic
Zetterberg > Tanguay

Yeah I dunno about the 2nd one yet either but I'm hoping I can just let them play the month out and let me not worry about 2 positions. Also Tanguay has hit rock bottom so he can't go down in price really that much anymore.

Öhlund (game winning goal yesterday) and Sopel are good longterm alternatives on defense.

It's kinda funny if you think about it. People bail on a guy if there's a rumor he won't play so they won't miss a man-game. Forsberg is rumored to be coming back and everyone is considering jumping on him before his first game.... Things that make you go hmmmmm....

Best pick IMO is Czerkawski, and he's under 2 mil. 6 points in his last 5.

Also, Donovan isnt a bad pick either..

I'd be leery of picking up Donovan. I think the guys on TV yesterday said that he hasn't scored in 5 games or so and in addition he has already gone up a lot of money.

I agree with Ira about Czerkawski. Another good option is Ryder in Montreal. I've had him for a while now and he's good for a point a game. I"ve been pleased with what I've got from him and he's only around 700k

How about Mark Parrish ? I donīt know his price, I think something between 2,5- 4 Mil ? He has been hot lately. Or Oleg Kvasha who is playing Yashinīs slot number one line with Asham and Cherkawski.Cherkawski is cheaper and could be a good choice too. And I think Ryder is at least worth of his price 700k.

I gotta figure out a W around 2.7 starting thursday... I have considered the NYI guys, and a few on Nashville but not really confident with any of those... this is a key move because I can go Draper>Savard next week in a smooth transition and solid upgrade.

I know Czerkawski is probably the main option.. and Donavon... anyone see anyone I am missing?

as I type this, I see Ottawa's schedule aligns pretty good, making Schaeffer an option. I have never even considered him before, but he's been hot too...

Spezza isnt a bad option either..

I'm planning on going Donovan>Nolan after tomorrow's CGY-COL game..

ATL has 1 game in 7 days after tomorrow's game.
I'll be going Kovalchuk> Nash/St. Louis/Selanne tomorrow.

Anyone wanna help me out here? Selanne (14 in 25), Nash (7 in 12), or St.Louis (14 in 25)?
