Some sort of ankle infection.

"Cellulitis in his foot", according to someone on the Blues message board.. "A soft tissue infection", the person goes on to say. "They usually clear up with antibiotics, but they can also get nasty sometimes".

Ugh. I think i will hold and wait for further information about it's severity. No decent options to move to tomorrow anyways.

Plz keep me updated, I dont wanna sell him then he comes back to haunt me like Martin St.Louis did. I sold St.louis and he got 4 points in 2 games. And like before i sold broduer after his 2 straight loses, then he comes back with 2 shutouts in 1 week. Just keep me updated plz.

From today's St. Louis Post Dispatch: - walk

*********************************************

Tkachuk arrived at the rink Saturday for the Blues' morning skate with his ankle swollen with an infection. The Blues immediately sent him to the hospital, where antibiotics were administered. He and the team do not know how or when Tkachuk picked up the infection.

They know he's not expected to take tonight's flight to Detroit. Neither is Petr Cajanek, who missed Saturday's game because of neck pain.

Blues coach Joel Quenneville said the Blues do not want Tkachuk to be far from treatment should the infection - called "cellulitis," inflammation of the cells - flare up. Quenneville called the injury "a complete surprise - a tough one."

Got it, I just replied. I feel like I have to make the same move, as NOTHING stands out as an alternative to this Hunter guy. I sure hope he gets a few points in the next few games, or he will start losing $. I hate buying a stock at its all time high price!

From Monday's St. Louis Post-Dispatch:
*************************************

The Blues expect to be without Keith Tkachuk, who did not fly with the team Sunday to Detroit. He has an infection in his ankle, and the Blues want him to be close to treatment. It is possible a re-evaluation of his ankle this morning will allow him to join the team today. Eric Boguniecki (shoulder) and Barret Jackman (shoulder) are also out, leaving the Blues without a full complement, though Petr Cajanek (neck strain) made the trip and will be evaluated this morning. The Blues also may recall a player from Worcester.
*****************************************

Looks like he will not likely play, but clearly there is a chance, based on this article.

That is what I hear as well from the local radio. IF his ankle improves today then he will be flown to Detroit for tonight's game. But sources close to the Blues say "Don't hold you're breath".

Tkachuk tried to skate yesteday, but opted out of playing. Weight re-injured his groin and is doubtful for tonight's game. Osgood twisted his ankle, but seems okay. Here are excerpts from today's St. Louis Post-Dispatch (I feel like I am subscribing to this newspaper and I live and work in NYC...!): - walk
******************

And against a Blues team that was missing Keith Tkachuk and Petr Cajanek before the game began and Doug Weight by the time the game was in the third period, two [goals against the Blues] was enough.

Weight is unlikely to play as he will rest his re-aggravated groin. Tkachuk took the pregame warmup Monday but didn't have enough strength in his infected ankle to play.

He will try to skate again this morning.

"We missed a lot of offense without Dougie and Walt (Tkachuk) and Petr, but we still needed to find a way to win," said Ryan Johnson, who along with an electrically energetic Steve Martins helped cover the available ice time. "We've been talking about playing a real simple game all year. That's what we needed to do."

Osgood had 22 saves to bolster the Blues' check-first play. Despite turning his right ankle 13 minutes into the third period, he had nine saves on 10 shots. Detroit had seven shots during back-to-back power plays at the end of the first and beginning of the second periods. Osgood stopped all.

A crash in his crease caused him to bend awkwardly on his ankle.

"It's all right," Osgood said. "It felt exactly like it did when I hurt it last year (with a high ankle sprain). I was more nervous than anything. It didn't swell up like it did last year."

Supposedly Forsberg is playing Friday. Is that 100% certain? and is he himself 100% healthy?
