Flames goalie injured his knee the other night and will not play tonight. |

I just saw this too. Why couldn't I have seen it 10 minutes sooner?

With Roman Turek already injured, Miikka Kiprusoff has been sidelined for 4-6 weeks with a sprained MCL in his left knee. The injury occurred in Tuesday night's game against the Minnesota Wild but the Finnish goaltender finished the game. However, he did not skate with the team on Wednesday.

What will those managers with a low RV do now?

I am thinking about that myself. Maybe, McLennan?

Not Noronen - placed on injured reserve today.
Esche, McLennan, Snow, and Leighton seem to be possibilities. Nabakov or Raycroft if you have a little bit of cash in reserve.
Kipper's price is going to plummet; watch out below!

Gerber is another possibility if Giguere's groin injury turns out to be serious. Esche will probably be the big price gainer tomorrow though.

Boy O Boy, Kipper won half of Calgary's games...
That's really a shame for Flames fans..

I'd rather go with a cheap winger than a cheap goalie. Going with a cheap goalie is just dangerous.

I'll likely go to Mclennan myself. He'll get all of Calgary's games, whereas Esche will still split time.

I have decided to go with McLennan; gives me money to upgrade to Blake at defense.

Problem with McClennan is that Turek will be back in a week to 10 days and will slide into the goalie slot for Calgary.

I had the cash to go Kiprusoff to Snow (he's had a decent run lately) but couldn't go more expensive at goalie without a major overall (downgrade center and/or wing) and was unwilling to go that route. Good luck with your replacement goalie choices.

I made 3 trades today...
Palffy/Illya/Kippy to Forsberg/Walker/Belfour... Forsberg hasn't been that productive, but he's due to break out, so I'll hop on and hope for the best...

Well, Turek's rotoworld report indicates that he's hoping to be able to play in 2-3 weeks. Mclennan's blurb indicates Calgary will try to rush Turek back in 7-10 days. To me, that means he'll be back in 2-3 weeks. Rushing a goalie who had a serious knee injury doesn't seem like a smart idea to me...
However, if I have to move to someone else in 7-10 days, then I guess I will. I don't mind spending a trade at goalie for a week's worth of games.
