0 Subject: Ultimate Trading Post All-Star Break

Posted by: KWizard

Time for a new thread. I'm planning on upgrading Leopold to either Mccabe or Redden. I can't decide whether to make the trade on the 10th or the 12th. Can Leopold score more in 2 games than either or those other guys score in 1 game? I've had such bad luck with trades the last few weeks, I'm hesitant to make a trade I don't absolutely have to make.

Hold Leopold for two then just flip a coin on the others. McCabe and Redden are likely candidates to hold for the remainder. I'm about 2 mil short of going Leopold > Blake, and have the roster I want/need with my A team which is in the neighborhood of 78 mil. I'm likely going to hold Leopold just a little bit longer and then upgrade. Could do it now if Savard would start beign a true stud again but I'm going to have to go with Sakic, Federov, Sundin instead of Savard so I have to wait.

I've got Domi's Left Fist's team again, and I think I'm taking care of it for a few weeks. So we should be able to jump ahead of pucka shortly....

Anyways I'm going to post his team, and feel free to give suggestions if you're sitting by your computer, and bored on a Sunday.

Morrison
Weight
Doan

Forsberg
St Louis
Kovalchuk
Recchi

Souray
Zidlicky
Slegr

Theodore
Aebisher

1 trade, .33 in the bank.

It's a decent team. For the first order of business, I'd like to get rid of Ilya. Too many, decent, hot wings out there to have a guy that gets benched, right?

Can either use this last trade and get out of him now, or wait and hope. Sadly, he's still on over 25% of rosters and the 4th most owned winger, still....

Morrison out at the 2 in 7
TB has a minor leakage in the sked next week.
Doan is destined to be a top loser on the first freeze.
Kipprusoff is the wild card in all of this.

While Doan may lose on Day 1 after the break, He has a nice schedule for the first three weeks after the break at least and is one of only a handful of centers worth owing.. I would hold him...

I agree on Morrison.. He will have to go soon.. Weight also on the bubble.. He's had two 40+ games the last two and is showing signs of waking up, but I'd reserve a trade for the struggling Blue...

As for Illya.. they do come out of the box with 3 in 4 and have scored a few goals recently.. I'd say sit on the last trade for a few days than look to overhaul in anyway necessary.. trading Morrison, Illya, Recchi and and possibly Weight and St. Louis too...

I wouldn't make any moves for the first day for sure. Doan may lose a bit, but I doubt that he will be close to leading the losers any day soon.

I don's see any persuasive reason to move anyone off this team.

Are people holding Naslund coming out of the break? They have a decent sched, well I should say no mworse than anyone else for the first week after the break. Don't matter I'm holding anyways just wanted to get a consensus feeling. With the team above I'd definitely move Morrison and possibly Weight, fomdomg replacements is the hard part.

With his team and his lower RV, I think Ribiero might be a decent long term hold. The only downside is his ownership at a good number, but he does lead the Habs in scoring at 3 mil, not too shabby.

Holding Naslund until the 2 in 7, I think most people are doing that, this is what the RVs are for.

What's the feeling on Kipprusoff? He's supposedly going to play in the first game back, but his schedule just looks a little brutal. I'd like to get some money to upgrade Leopold on my teams and Kippy seems like the best way, but those are some top notch teams he's playing IIRC.

On Kippy: I'm lucky in that I don't have any immediate needs for cash. They play four games this week, but then have a 3-day break. After that break, they have only one 2-day break (and obviously no 3-day breaks) all the way up until March 28th (last week of the season.) So he seems like a great long-term hold after the 3-day break, assuming he's the outright #1 goalie. This 4 game week makes for a pretty nice trial period to me. ATL, at VAN, ANA, at MIN. Doesn't seem too hard to me, but I suppose ATL and VAN aren't easy at all either. Either way, a good test. After those 4 I can decide if its worth a Theo or Aeb -> Kippy move.

Naslund is definitely gone for Van's 2 in 7, maybe for someone like Hossa or Alfie.

As for Domi's team, I'd say hold for the first day. Ilya may not be the best option at wing right now, but ATL has a 3 in 4 out of the break. No point trading out of that, especially with only 1 trade banked. The only dude I'd think of trading right away is Morrison, but he should probably be held for the 4 in 7.

Yeah I've gotta think about it. I might have to be talked out of this one, b/c I really don't care too much about goalies and always go for guys who can score. That said, I'm looking towards making the upgrade.

I give up 1 Raycroft game at best and could end up being 2 if Kippy doesn't play in the Vancouver game after the Atlanta game. I'm assuming Raycroft is going to play all of those games since there are no B2Bs and he's hot.

As for the return of the break...I'll be holding on Naslund, Doan and Kovalchuk for the first few days and adjust accordingly afterwards...I may also moove out of TAmpa Bay (Richards and St-Louis pretty soon...)

salut!

Great run by Die Habs. He's literally mirrored my run back into the top 10, I see since about 1/19.

What would I do with a just a little more RV, upgrade Leopold damnit. You can never have enough!

Probably Forsberg-Hejduk-Tanguay-Sakic-Morris as the #1 unit. Definitely a boost to Sakic's fantasy value.

Weight -> Sundin

My souray dump will either be to Redden or McCabe... Leaning towards Redden

Blake -> Zubov
Souray -> McCabe
Theodore -> Turco

Went
Weight- Sundin
Pronger(can't take it any more)- Chara
Souray- McCabe.
Everyone is talking about dimping St. Louis and Ricahrds but I dont' see why especially if didn't do it today. The only one I would trade would be Richards but only to upgrade to Sakic. Actually I'm trying to find a way to go Ribiero - Sakic, and I might get the cash when I trade Naslund alter on this week. Too bad Calgary's sched sucks or else Kipper might be on some people's radars. On another note Forsberg has sucked the last few games too. The extra roster value hasn't been handy lately but hopefully the studs pick it up down the stretch. I also lost money today -80, a lot of strange money losers Raycroft and Ribiero suprprised me on my team.

Right, well St Louis is heavily owned, and the TB sked becomes more average and less great. Then again, I didn't expect him to continue being THIS good. Boy he's damn good right now. We'll see what happens. As for Richards, I have a "gut" feeling on Federov, and usually my gut is right.

BTW, nice managing of your team tommyd, you have a ton of trades. I can't get the ball rolling on any of my other teams, I've got the money but it just isn't working. I tinker and tweak off of what I want my A team to be, and the differentiation off the A team is wrong every time. I can't do multiple teams, I've certainly tried, but it ain't happening.
