Can't let the baseball season begin without trying something different, so I've concocted a league that combines what used to be good about ESPN's Baseball Challenge (all stick, no arm ... just like the 2004 Evil Empire) with the flexibility of Yahoo!

The league name says it all: No pitchers or starting catchers, although you can include the latter on your team by utilizing another roster position.
Maximum teams: 20
Scoring type: Rotisserie
Player universe: All baseball
Maximum player acquisitions: 40
Maximum trades: 40
Trade reject time: 2 days
Trade end date: August 29, 2004
Waiver time: No waivers (unless I'm mistaken, this means "dropped today, free agent tomorrow")
"Can't Cut" List provider: Yahoo! Sports
Trade review: Commissioner
Post-draft players: Follow waiver rules (see "Waiver time" above)
Maximum games played, per position: 162
Weekly deadline: Daily-tomorrow
Start scoring on: Tuesday, March 30, 2004
Roster positions: 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, IF, OF (3), Util (2), Bench (5), DL ... that's a 15-player roster, plus one DL slot
Stat categories: R, H, HR, RBI, SB, BB, AVG, OPS
The draft will be conducted via autopick, the final weekend in March; minimum of 10 teams required.

Looking for at least four more managers to "make" this league ... any brave souls out there with time for some low-stress baseball? Assembling a team without pitchers would be similar, if you will, to managing a fantasy hockey team without having to worry about your "stud" goaltender blowing a 3-0 lead and letting five past him in a single game ... like bleepin' Khabolai Nikibulin did against the Bruins (I took that one very personally).
