On the one hand, I can't entirely disagree. Canada's style of hockey has always been agressive. Weather its the Olympics or the World Championships, Canada's team always goes out and hits hard.

However, to simply say that Canadians headed the cheap-shot parade is just ludicrous. Kelley is just trying to stir up the hornets nest. Every country has its instigators and its skill players. Because Canada has more players, we'll have more of both. So yeah, we have the highest amount of guys with PIM's, but we also have the top 3 scorers. (Who all happen to be lower then 50 PIM's too.) We also have guys like Brad Richards, who happens to have a grand total of EIGHT PIM's this year in 70 games, and Michael Ryder, who's hard nosed play is matched by a grand total of 22 PIM's this year.

So why single out the two worst acts in hockey history (who were committed by Canadians, fine) and use it as proof that Canadians are cheap shot artists? Samuelsson and Kasperitis have taken out more star players with cheap knee-on-knee hits and hits from behind then Bertuzzi ever will. Does that make Russian and Sweden players cheap-shots? What sillyness.

The worst part of this article is that I can garantee that it WILL be shown by Cherry or some other hotheaded Canadian person, and they'll take Kelley's bait and start a whole heated debate over it. I can hardly wait. :(

That Kelley doesn't seem to be a real man.

We need what for a good Canadian writer to take his number and go see him and teach him a lesson, just a little reminder for him to keep his head up and that he has to pay for his actions.

Hockey journalism is an embarrassment, period.

They are vultures who wait for somebody to do something wrong, and then they'll compete with each other to curse that player to hell. The writer who makes the player look worse than Hitler wins bragging rights among his peers, and a deal for tons of money.

They have no conscience, because they can't survive the industry if they had one. You'll never hear the other side of the story, because such a writer will be the target of fellow vultures immediately.

And the above extends to all of the mass media. It's a brain-washing, biased, misleading, misinterpreting industry, full of mindless people who use their pen (or their favourite word-processing program) to hurt other people's reputation more than they deserve. They don't say any good unless it's a "heart-warming" story that, in the process, would earn them money. They won't defend the players who did wrong, and they won't pick the bones out of something good. They are incapable of being objective.
