Not that it's going to matter much with the hope of avoiding a strike or lockout dwindling, but I thought it would be a good idea to keep track of all the off-season moves in one thread for reference... just in case. Also, here's a list of the top potential Unrestricted Free Agents (according to CBS Sportsline). Belfor, Ed (G, TOR) Conroy, Craig (C, CGY) Draper, Draper (C, DET) Hull, Brett (RW, DET) Kariya, Paul (LW, COL) Kovalev, Alexei (RW, MON) Madden, John (C, NJD) Murray, Glen (RW, BOS) Palffy, Ziggy (RW, LOS) Rolston, Brian (C, BOS) Hasek, Dominik (G, DET) Some moves that could/should have impact: TRADE - STL receives: Patrick Lalime - OTT receives: conditional 4th-round 2005 pick Seems OTT is pretty confident that either a.) they can sign Hasek, b.) Prusek can handle the starting job, or c.) they can get somebody else. Hasek has said OTT is one of the teams he's interested in and the Ottawa Sun said OTT is the frontrunner, so... TRADE - MON receives: Radek Bonk and Cristobal Huet - LOS receives: Mathieu Garon (G) and MON 3rd-round 2004 pick (Paul Baier, D) - OTT receives: LOS 3rd-round 2004 pick (Shawn Weller, LW) OTT is clearly dumping Bonk because of his impending UFA status (July 1). The interesting thing will be what MON does with him. |

you'd think Lalime would be worth more than a 4th round pick!
Thrashers acquired defenceman Niclas Havelid for defenceman Kurtis Foster.

Ugh, we didn't get much for Garon. He's going to shine wherever he gets to start...

Apparently Hasek is as close to signing with Ottawa as he could be.
I think Montreal could have got a lot more for Garon.
Note: Arturs Irbe got traded to Columbus. Martin Gerber got traded to Carolina.
Nedved is close to signing with Edmonton for 7 mil/2 yrs.
Ed Belfour will be retiring after the World Cup, and Calgary will not be re-signing Craig Conroy.
Montreal is pushing hard to re-sign Alexei Kovalev.

Colorado - Nikolishin gone overseas. Signed Boughner and Gratton to multi-year deals. Kariya got his qualifying offer, but what're the chances he'll stick around for $1.6MM? And Worrell will be back....oh joy....he's such an asset to the team....

Silentz - i read differently about Kariya...
DENVER — Avalanche forwards Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne became unrestricted free agents Thursday.
Also joining them were Andrei Nikolishin, Matthew Barnaby, Jim Cummins and Steve Moore, whose season ended when he was punched from behind by Vancouver's Todd Bertuzzi.

Rob Niedermayer re-signs with ANA. Radek Bonk signs on to stay with MON for 3 years. Justin Williams signs with CAR for 1 year. Jocelyn Thibault re-signs with CHI for 1 year. Dan Cloutier and Brendan Morrision re-sign with VAN for 1 year. And Brett Hull has an offer from PHO, but he could be headed back to DAL.
