What are your local sports radio stations talking about?

To start, I have heard that Lindros has a deal in place with Toronto.

Anyone have any good information on other players?

Domi is interested in Pittsburgh and happens to be staying at Mario's house for the next week.

Forsberg would be interested in Toronto or Montreal if Colorado isn't possible.

Yzerman reportedly already has a 1-year deal in place with Detroit, they're just waiting for the August 1st start of free agency.

Domi in PIT? Mario's a smart dude -- somebody's gotta watch Crosby's back.

Here's hoping the Sharks make a play for a power scorer.

Markus Naslund and Peter Forsberg are talking about being a package deal for a team.

Scott Niedermeyer will go to any team willing to give him the max, with New Jersey, Vancouver, and Toronto as his top 3.

What teams are Naslund and Forsbery looking at? I don't think anyone can afford to pay 28% of there revenue to two players. Maybe someone will pull a karyia.

I guess since Bob Goodenow just resigned...he becomes a free agent...

Maybe he could go to the NFL...lol

I can only see the Canucks dishing out for Niedermayer if a) Naslund doesn't sign, or b) Bertuzzi is traded.

The Avs just signed everybody but Foote and Forsberg. I heard about the Naslund/Forsberg package too. If Forsberg is looking for money, he's not gonna be with the Avs. They already spent most of their money on Sakic, Hejduk, Blake, and Tanguay.

I'd also wager that if Forsberg and Naslund did pull a Kariya/Selanne, that it would be a WHOLE lot better than Kariya/Selanne.

Holik now gone from the Rangers. This new CBA could help the rangers out, force them to actually not be retarded.

OTTAWA SUN: Bruce Garrioch reports "Colorado, Columbus, St. Louis and Philadelphia" have expressed serious interest in the Anaheim Mighty Ducks first round pick, second overall, following comments by Ducks GM Brian Burke he was willing to listen to offers. Garrioch claims the Blues would like to trade Chris Pronger in exchange for the pick, while the Avs are believed offering up Milan Hejduk and Alex Tanguay for the pick plus Stanislav Chistov, or possibly Sergei Fedorov as they may lose Peter Forsberg to unrestricted free agency. The Flyers are believed interested because GM Bob Clarke would love to draft Owen Sound winger Bobby Ryan. The Carolina Hurricanes, who hold the number three pick, have only had a few calls of interest.

Making the biggest free-agent signing in their history, the Thrashers signed free-agent center Bobby Holik, a two-time Stanley Cup champion who fits the bill of the big, physical two-way center they have always needed but never had.

Wow...two very nice signings by the Flyers. I am really impressed. Those two guys bring a nice toughness to the blueline.

I think the Thrashers need to sign a solid defenseman before I am sold on the Holik move.

wow...tons of moves, but the most surprising is Edmonton getting Chris Pronger, and then signing him for 5 years and $30 million?!?

I mean, he's worth it, but I thought Edmonton was one of the poor teams?

what is the minimum salary cap ###???

Teams have to spend money these days. I like it!!!!

Now why couldn't the Thrashers get Pronger instead of Holik????

I agree J. While I love Holik on the Thrashers with all those young stars, they definately could have used someone like Pronger anchoring the blueline.

Maybe they still have a shot at Niedermeyer???

some moves from this week I haven't seen posted in here:

Adrian Aucoin to Chicago $16 million at four years

Alexei Zhitnik to the Islanders - four-year deal at $14 million

forward Martin Straka, goalie Kevin Weekes and defenseman Marek Malik to the Rangers

Columbus (not Colorado per post #7) nabbed topflight defenseman Adam Foote

Shawn McEachern to the Bruins

Should I put this in the "Things that make you go WTF?" thread???

The Philadelphia Flyers made salary-cap room for Peter Forsberg by trading Jeremy Roenick to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday. Los Angeles also receives a 2006 third-round draft pick the Flyers acquired from Nashville. Philadelphia gets future considerations from the Kings.

Who would you rather have Forsberg or Roenick. I think we know the answer there. Instead of buying JR out, at lesat the flyers can get something. Now, who knows exactly what that may be, but it is better then nothing.

Now where is karyia, allison, plaffy, lindros, and those big time goalies going?

exactly not only didn't the flyers get any draft picks for Roenick they also gave up a draft pick to get rid of him.

If Forsberg can finally play a full season it is a no brainer who I want. If he is injured most of the season then bring on JR.

I heard that Lindros is going to the rangers

Chicago Sportsradio (ESPN 1000) is reporting a confirmed three-way deal between the ***** Hawks, Boston, and Toronto. Chicago sends Eric Daze to Boston; the Bruins send Thornton to Toronto; Leafs send Belfour to Chicago. Chicago Lapointe signing cleared way for the deal; adding Belfour returns him to his original team.

Getting nothing for JR is better then paying 66% of his contract and buying him out. Just a plain salary dump and the Kings took advantage.

This is for Species :)

Left wing Nils Ekman re-signed with the San Jose Sharks, agreeing to a two-year deal Tuesday.

Ekman was a surprising offensive star for the Sharks in 2003-04, reaching career highs with 22 goals, 33 assists and a plus-30 rating while playing in all 82 games. He was San Jose's second-leading scorer, though he struggled in the playoffs.

Ekman spent most of his early North American career in the New York Rangers' farm system. Last winter, He led Djurgarden of the Swedish Elite League with 18 goals and 27 assists, finishing as the league's fifth-leading scorer.

Ekman plays a speedy, skillful game that could flourish under the NHL's new rules limiting obstruction, Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said.
