0 Subject: Bertuzzi reinstated!

Bring on the Steve Moore whinings. I'm sure he'll whine about the fact that Bertuzzi didn't get suspended for life, banished from Canada, his possessions confiscated, and the same neck injury inflicted upon him in retribution.

Nonis really did a nice job. Signing Naslund for only $6M (as opposed to $7M for Iginla), and then Morrison, and now he can bring back Bertuzzi. These three will most likely be the only line that remains intact through all these free agency signings.

I'm just glad there is still this thing called "loyalty" in the game.

As someone who was glad to see Bertuzzi get suspended, I think he deserved to be reinstated at this point in time. He was forced to be out of hockey all of last year and lost over $500k as a result.

In the end, I think the punishment fit and I think the NHL has rightfully put Bertuzzi into a sort of probationary period.

Personally, I never felt Bertuzzi should have been suspended for life or anything near it. In the original thread, I compared the incident to the McSorely/Brashear incident and it turns out that the punishment was very similar and I'm glad for that.

Ah, but Brashear didn't have a broken neck and he's still playing hockey.

See, this is just another one of the "new era" publicity thing. Everybody starts fresh, including Todd Bertuzzi.

Honestly, as much as I think Moore got hurt because he's a coward for not fighting Bertuzzi, I wouldn't have been surprised if they kept him suspended from all the hatred I've witnessed. I mean, those people, who like to sacrifice other people's lives to make themselves sound righteous, do have a point that Bertuzzi didn't miss all that much because of the lockout.

I still remember how angry those commentators/guests sounded on TV back when it happened. The only thing I'm surprised right now is that those people didn't come up again and call for another year of suspension to make up for the lockout season.

My only problem is why is it okay for him to play now if they painted Bertuzzi like a serial killer a year ago? It was like a competition back then to see who can make him look as bad as possible as a person. It's like the sportscasters who successfully cause a mother to cover her child's eyes when Bertuzzi walks down the street would win an award or something. It was the politically correct thing to say, and if you weren't questioning Bertuzzi's integrity, you would be group as a bad person who also has no integrity.

Oh, how fast Steve Moore is forgotten. It's also kind of ironic how both the McSorley/Brashear and Bertuzzi/Moore incidents could have been avoided if the victim would just accept a fight, which I think all of us would rather see than what transpired.
