So me an another guy are trying to make a trade, and the league keeps on vetoing it...because they don't like it...
I'm trying to get Iginla for Kovalchuk and Yzerman... i know that I'm getting the advantage on this trade... but it's not like I'm robbing him blind... and he happens to want Yzerman too...
what do you guys think?... fair trade?

Yzerman is pretty much a toss-in unless the league is very deep. Ilya is definitely worth more then Iginla though. Not so much more that I think its veto-worthy, but you certainly aren't getting the better end of it...

That explains a lot; like overpricing Iginila. You might be thankful at the end of the year that the league vetoed the trade.

Iginla had one superstar year (96 points in '01 [cough]contract[cough]year[cough]) and the rest of his career he's been a star at about 70 pts/season. Kovalchuk, on the other hand, has consistently gotten better each year he's been in the league and put up 87 points "last" year on a bad team (-10 at the same time).

It would not be a big surprise to see Iginla again around 70 points and Kovalchuk more around 90-100. To add Yzerman to that (good for 50+ points if healthy), you're talking about a 2:1 balance in the trade in favor of the person getting Kovalchuk/Yzerman. If you have someone worth 70 points to pair up with Iginla to make up for losing Kovalchuk and Yzerman, then it's a wash. However, my guess is that's not the case.

The unknowns, of course, are that Yzerman is nursing a groin injury and Kovalchuk is just getting back to ATL. Because of that, I wouldn't veto the trade, but I would certainly want to be on the Kovalchuk/Yzerman side of it.
