Subject: Trade advice

I'm in a 16 team Yahoo Head-2-Head league and I've been offered Giguere & Briere for Thornton & Allison. I figure Briere for Alison is equal. My team is pretty weak at the goalie position but I'm not sure if I want to move Thronton for Giguere....any advice? The guy also has Theodore so I might counter and ask for him instead of Giguere.

I would not go for that trade AT ALL! Thornton and Allison are far superior. Allison when healthy is a point per game player and Giguere would not upgrade your goalies.
Are there any other goalies available in your league? Ie. Cam Ward? that you could pick up from free agents?

There's nothing left for Goalies. Everyone in the FA list is a backup. How about if I offer Thornton & Allison for Briere & Theodore?

I'm not sure if I would actually do that one either. I have seen pretty much all the Canadians game this year and Theodore is not the same goalie he was two years ago. I don't if it is the change in the game but hes is very shaky, giving at leat one bad goal a game. His only good game was the season opener in Boston. Even he was in Hart and Vezina condition...Thornton is a top five 1st rounder, not Theo.

if you really need a goalie, trade straight up with someone that has a top 5 goalie. You may also try to work a deal with Modano in the mix, he is been hot and its good to sell guys while they are hot for trade bait.
I have Theo on my head 2 head and the games I have watched, he has stunk the place up. Look to get someone like kiprosoff, nabokov or roberto.

Thanks for the input. Modano seems like the better option to trade or maybe I'll try Thornton straight up like you said for Luongo or even Hasek.

Hasek is playing well, but is soo injury prone. I would shy away from him in a head to head league.
is Jason Labarbera picked up?

yeah, even Labarbera is gone. The only way I'll get a starting goalie from the FA list is if someone gets injured.
