0 Subject: Week 11 trades

Staal>Spezza tomorrow

This seems to be my only trade this week. Maybe I should finally move Ric Jackman. I've had him since th start of the season, and he's been a healthy scratch for 8 games this season..

At this time of the year a break in trading abuse is great, it will actually help us getting rid of those loose players that are on our teams. For example, I have held onto Carney-anaheim and Connoly-Buffalo for all of this time and they havent produced that much... but are cheep and have not gained/lost cash.

Instead of just holding these players, it might be the time to swap them to other longer holds and also swap them to cheap holds but better options. Every team has those players. So we might see some bizar price movers early this week.

Hmm...

Gaborik>Alfredsson/Cheechoo/Sullivan?

Or I could suck up the losses and save the trade..

Ira, Spezza left yesterday's game after the first period with some kind of upper body muscle strain. Might want to check that...

Excerpted from today's Ottawa Sun:

Spezza scored the Senators' first goal and then left the game after feeling a twinge in his chest. He tried it briefly in the second period, then called it a night. "The doctor is confident it's just a strained pectoral muscle," said Spezza. "It's too early in the year to try and battle through stuff like that." Spezza accompanied the team to Philadelphia last night after the game and said he would see how he felt today.

Nothing set in stone for me right now. I just picked up Spezza yesterday, so I'll take a wait and see approach there. I may get a couple Philly players this week. I don't see much else right now as my team is in cruise control. Everything looks good, lots of trades, money, and good players withgood schedules. A well oiled machine you could call it.

I too have no scheduled moves. Though Nagy --> Gagne does seem quite tempting.

Conroy -> Savard

Tanguay/Gaborik -> Sullivan/Gagne are intriguing moves, but ill get to breaking down pro's and cons after Christmas.

Tuques, jump onto Turco....He did not play in his last game (hedberg did). So this means he will be playing most games in the next strech !

Gionta to Kovalchuk
Demitra to Forsberg

Still have over $5 million in the bank. I will try and upgrade a goalie or D-man if nothing blows to hell first.

Anybody confirm or deny a rumor about Kippers being injured? I heard it on the telecast tonight, and they made mention of him maybe not being able to play in the olympics??

Thanks

Kiprusoff took his name off the Olympic list to rest a nagging hip injury.

I dont think it's anything serious, but I think he's either just giving an excuse to take the time off, or his hips sore and he wants to be safe that he'll be 100% in the second half of the season..

Tanguay -> Sullivan 12/26

Auld>???

Emery maybe? Last goalie trade of the season?

Lehtonen and Kolzig are the only other 2 affordable goalies... Kolzig's on the worst team in the league, and Lehtonen might not be too sharp after all that time off

Tactical error on my part dropping Gaborik instead of Tanguay for Gagne... That's TSNP i don't like flushing down the toilet. :(

I may be able to upgrade out of Auld depending on how much money i get from moving Thornton...

I really really hate Auld.
I like Garon or Niittymaki from Auld.

I moved Gaborik -> Gagne too, but my other option was Nagy, who got ~ 50 TSNP anyway.

Oh... and I really really hate Auld.

Warned u guys about Auld. "For his price, Auld has to play really bad to not be worth it". So I am guessing he has played bad enough to make it not worth it?

Today, back on the net !

Biron > Lethonen

Little one day vacation at Tuque's home. We'll be watching some hockey tonight, either the habs game or the junior game.

Whoa, had a big night! Finally starting my push to the top, at least I hope. :)

Looking at Nagy -> ? at this point, the guy hasn't done much lately and there are a ton of options. I have Gagne/Heatley/Sullivan, so anyone else is a possibility.

I dont see the panic regarding Auld as justified. Sure, he has had two bad games recently, but for his price, he his going to play almost all the games on a good team. $$$ better invested elsewhere IMHO.

I'm Holding.

I see even less justification for the panic on Turco. Its just a flu for pete's sake.

I'm holding Auld as well as long as he's starting. I've resisted chasing the hot hand at goalie all year and don't plan to start now.

Whoa!! I thought I was the only one (crazy enough?) to consider Crosby. Even over a player like Staal. I would like to get Madonna but I am a couple hundred thousand short.

I think i may pass on that Auld trade i posted too... I think that trade better used on upgrading my D-corps, perhaps Foster -> Redden.

Auld seems to be consistently losing about $100k a night though.

I went Auld>Emery on New Year's Eve, and once Emery gets a start, and Auld stops losing money, I'll probably switch em back.

I'm not understandin the big Nagy sell off though..

On the other hand, Auld cant go much lower than 500k.
