0 Subject: Why is Luc Bourdon booed?

I was at the World Junior Hockey Championship game between Canada and Norway.

Whenever Luc Bourdon touched the puck, he got booed. It got so ridiculous that he got cheered when he scored a goal, and then got booed when the crowd realized that it was him who scored the goal.

I did a google search on him, and all I got was how he was the defenseman of the year and how good he is. No mention of what he did to get booed.

Can anyone tell me what he did? I don't follow junior hockey much other than the Memorial Cup.

Are you sure they were booing? and not Luuuuuukee-ing? Bourdon is one of Vancouver's top prospects so I think he'd be one of the crowd favorites. But, I wasn't there, so I could be wrong.

He's a real stud--while I thought they would take a forward instead I think they are quite pleased they got him.

He's not getting boooed. It just sounds like that. They are saying LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE. Because Bourdon is a draft pick of the Vancouver Canuks.

Okay...
No wonder I couldn't find any reasons to boo him... O_o

What a game tonight! Don't worry Left Wings, I wondered the same thing the first time I heard them chanting!

Yeah the TV announcers (which obviously you wouldn't have heard, since you were at the game) made a point of mentioning that at all of the Canada games I watched, including tonight.

"They're not booing, they're chanting LUUUUUUUC"

A little surprised that Staal was picked as top defensemen of tournament. IMHO, Bourdon was a little better for Team Canada. He contributed on Power play, played solid defensively and was the most physical of Canadian D-Men.

Maybe they gave the award to Staal because he was able to shut down Kessel and Malkin.

I wasn't too surprised they gave it to Staal, he played amazingly straight up against the best offensive players in the tournament.

What I was surprised at was that Rask was named the tournament's top goalie...Pogge set all kinds of records and beat Rask twice head to head.
