Aaaaahhhhh, new trades. People will finally get the chance to trade those injured players on their teams.

Yesterday :
Garon > Lethonen

Today :
Nash > Oveshkin

Am also looking at Pitkanen's return, with B2B games against Pitsburg, just might be interesting.

I will sell Nash after his next 2 game and I also have to get rid of Hasek and Alfredsson after thier next 3 games..

Nash to Ovechkin x 2 leaving Nash on one team until after the BtB.

Holding Federov on the two teams that have him. Looking at the schedule I see a lot of trades I have to make.

Gagne -> Cheechoo (25th)
Jagr -> Nagy (23rd)
Hasek -> Kippy (24th) not a big goalie trading fan but 1 in 6 is terrible.
someone -> Thornton(24th)

and Kiprusoff is facing some really weak teams next week too. I picked him up from Garon on one team yesterday, on my other teams I may move Hasek for him for the 1 in 6, after holding him for a couple of months. We'll see.

Would love to get Ovechkin but no one to move.

Here's my plans (which ALWAYS end up channging)

1/19
Modano>Staal
Turco>Vokoun/Kipper

1/21
Fedorov>Datsyuk

1/22
Nash>Gaborik (or Nagy on the 21st)

1/23
Redden>Boucher (or somebody)

It'll be tough to choose between Kipper and Vokoun.
Kipper has 8 in 14 (Columbus, St. Louis, Chicago x2).
Vokoun has 6 in 10. (Columbus x2, Minnesota)

It's official. Joni Pitkanen will play tomorrow night against Pittsburgh.
He has missed over a month's worth of games recovering from an abdomen muscle tear. Activate the offensive-minded rearguard immediately.

This is the pick-up i have been looking for.. and probably some good $RV too.

Personally I'd wait on Pitkanen. He really slowed down for the last few weeks before he got injured, averaging less than 20 TSNP/game, compared to the 50 TSNP/game he was getting the first month or so of the season.

No Foppa either will hurt his production, as Foppa passing backdoor to a sneaking in Pitkanen was where alot of his goals came from. No doubt about it though, the money gains will be there, for those of you wanting to build RV still.

some moves I'm pondering... could be using a lot of trades in the next little while. Luckily I have lots of them banked. It seems like a lot schedules nest quite nicely in the next couple of weeks. Particularly Jagr > Nagy > Alfie/Heatley

Centres
1/21 Modano > Datsyuk (or might just hold Modano)
1/28 Gomez > Thornton
1/29 Staal > Spezza/Forsberg

Wingers
1/23 Jagr > Nagy ... 1/30 Nagy > Heatley/Alfie
1/24 Gagne > Cheechoo
1/28 Elias > Jagr
1/29 Kovalchuk > Heatley/Alfie/Gagne

D
staying put on Zubov/Zidlicky/Visnovsky

Goalies
1/24 Hasek > Kiprusoff
1/29 Gerber/Lehtonen > Hasek

Redden>

Phillippe Boucher or Lidstrom/Schneider?

I'm going to trade back to Redden on 1/30 either way

Boucher plays STL, COL, DET
Lidstrom/Schneider plays NAS, VAN, DAL

leaning towards Booch here..

Today, I will be trading Jagr.
I would like to pick up a Vacouver player and currently am hesitating in between Naslund and Bertuzzi. Who would be the best pick up ?

Caribou, are you looking at a short term hold and then a move to an OTT player? If so then I'd say Naslund may have the slight edge, as he has done better than Bertuzzi in road games.

Naslund 24 games / 10G 14A 24Pts / -6
Bertuzzi 24 games / 8G 10A 18Pts / -7

On the other hand Bertuzzi has done better lately, so it may be a wash.

I sitting on one last trade and am tempted by the Jagr-Nagy opportunity but I've also got two Ottawa players (Redden and Hasek) to worry about tomorrow and only one trade left. I think I'm going to pass on swapping out Jagr and just eat his losses this time around.

Wow, talk about bad schedules all around coming up, there's 7 or 8 trades I want to make..

Washington (Ovechkin) 2 in 7 (27th to 2nd)
New Jersey (Brodeur & Elias) 4 day break (28th to 31)
Detroit (Datsyuk) 1 in 6 (2nd to 7th)
Pittsburgh (Crosby) 3 day break (29th to 31st)
Carolina (Staal) 3 in 11 (29th to 8th)

not to mention the big Nagy sell off for Ottawa players.. I guess I'll take the hit

Looking for an out from Hasek... Kipper and Fernandez present decent options. Fernandez actually has a higher TSNP/G average than Kipper, very surprising.

Probably will move Broduer back into Hasek in about a week.

Fernandez definitely an interesting option from Hasek, especially if you already have Kiprusoff. For anyone who may not know, he is now the #1 goalie in Minnesota.

Roloson page at Rotoworld:
Coach Jacques Lemaire has abandoned his two goaltender system and has put Manny Fernandez as the number one goalie with Minnesota.
Roloso sees the writing on the wall and fully expects to be traded by the deadline on March 9. Roloson has only played twice since January 3 and since both goaltenders can be unrestricted free agents at the end of the season, it is reasonable to suggest that one will be traded and it looks like it will be Roloson. He therefore becomes a valuable backup on your roster at this time because he will probably be a starter for a playoff team or contender when the Wild finally do pull the trigger.

I saw those b2b b2b's... Minni may decide to play Roloson in each for trade showcase purposes... Who knows.

Problem is im almost sure Calgary is going to start Sauve tonight against Colorado, his former team. I would take a flyer on Tim Thomas in Boston if he didn't have Ottawa lined up 3 games from now.

hesitating a bit on my planned Gagne > Cheechoo move today, with Forsberg's return I'm not sure the move makes as much sense, at least not at this point in the Philly schedule, with Montreal and a struggling Theodore coming up next.

My moves so far today:
Hasek > Kiprusoff x2
Hasek > Fernandez (on my team that already has Kiprusoff)

Glad Modano and Zubov had good games last night, takes some of the sting out of not moving them on the weekend - did not expect to take the huge RV hit on them that I did.

Philly has a 3 in 9 starting today, compared to SJ's 5 in 9, and SJ players are a solid hold until the Olympic break.

But Forsberg's return does change things, I made my plans when I didn't know how long Forsberg was out.

If I want Gagne back, I can always move Ovechkin on Friday or Elias on Saturday and only miss one Philly game.

I don't have a plan for Cheechoo here in the near future. Just hoping he doesn't go off....I've got a series of trades planned out (it's a lot of them), that will mean I'm going to use up 80 mil. Hopefully the expensive dudes just go nuts.

SW - it is getting near the time that high rosters values need to show their value. I'm hoping the studs really start performing up to their price-level and we can actually benefit from the high roster values we've built up. I'm currently in a position on my best team where I've got almost $15 million in unused cash. I'd rather put that money to effective use and really start putting the heat on those folks who haven't been so careful on building roster values.

Definitely.

Thornton, Forsberg, Spezza
4 stud wings
3 5 mil Dmen
2 stud goalies

That's definitely around 80 mil.

My teams aren't in great shape RV wise, around 70m. I'm afraid they suffered a fair bit RVwise during the holidays when they went on unintentional autopilot.

The good thing about it is that I have a lot of banked trades now though, so for me the Gagne > Cheechoo move (and possibly back to Gagne from Ovechkin) may make sense.

Well, I pulled the trigger on Gagne > Cheechoo x3.

I crunched the numbers and came up with this:
Pre-Thornton: 545 TSNP in 24 games, 22.7 TSNP/g
with Thornton: 1293 TSNP in 21 games, 61.6 TSNP/g

It seems to me that Cheechoo (with Thornton) is producing at pretty much the same clip as Gagne this year.

And with this trade, I gain 2 games.

61? wow that is just ridiculous. Right now, I've just got so many other trades in mind that I didn't want to add Chechoo as well. Like a lot of people have been saying, I have 3 + 5 right now, and I have AT LEAST 6 already named for. More than likely it could be 7 or 8.

One thing is Visnosky does make it to the following trade week, which helps, if need be.

But teams without a lot of trades right here will be in serious trouble, imo.

I went to Cheechoo from Gagne. I figure he's gonna make a ton of money. Those who need to trade out of OTT forwards today, and those who need to muster up some money later to get OTT players. Haha I didn't even notice Visnovsky's schedule, I probably have enough trades to get out of him if I really want to. But there really is no good defenseman I like. Want to give some insight on what defenseman you are going to smallwhirled? I also decided not to trade Redden today and had no intention to trade Brodeur next week.

Looking forward in dumping our friend Nagy....

I took the Gagne lost/hit today, and hoping he will be a force tonight against the habs. The habs are really in a major slump, they got killed in the last two games. Tonight against philly, the score should go in the same direction, that is a big loss for montreal. Currently in montreal, the pin pointing has begun a long time ago and it is now theodore's turn to be the target.

urkel,

the sad thing is, I already had Nagy from Nash, so I moved Jagr to Doan.

I thought I'd have enough trades to get Heatley & Alfie from the 2, but looking at the rest of my teams schedules (Post 30), looks like I'm stuck with one of them. Nagy will take the price hit, but Doan is less productive..

Ira, ouch!

One good thing about inconsistency though - those guys are not likely to be consistently bad, either. One thing that bodes well is that Nagy seems to be way better in home games than away games, and Phoenix has a long stretch of home games coming.

Following data is from CBS Sportsline page for Nagy

HOME GAMES 24Games 12G 22A 34Pts +11
ROAD GAMES 24Games 3G 15A 18Pts -5

After tomorrow's game, Phoenix has an at least 8 game long home stand.

Wow, I am chock full o stats lately. :)
