Nice to see a familiar name....up for season 3 of ESDNHL. This is the best and the most exciting division.

I'm not sure if anyone has seen this, but TSN is changing the point structure for this year. Below is the posting by NicoTSN. If you have any comments, post them quickly at the TSN hockey forum, since a decision will be made shortly.
What's up fellow puck heads? We're working on next year's game and we have lobbied our stats provider to add new scoring categories to the game. Here they are with our preliminary point totals. Please give us your thoughts/complaints/suggestions on how these stats are being scored so we can evaluate them before making a final decision. These are all definitely being added except hits. Hits are on the fence. In your response just give us a yes or no on whether we should include hits as a scoring category.
Thanks.
Shootout goals (skater) = +10
Shootout miss (skater) = - 10
Shootout save = +5
Shootout goal allowed = - 10
OT/Shootout loss (goalie) = +25
Hits = 2 points

At least goalies won't lose points in the shootout. They get +25 for the loss, and it's rare to see a goalie let in 3+ goals in the shootout.

I have a bit of a problem.
I will be travelling from October 5 to October 22 and will have limited access to the internet. Normally, it is not a problem to find a babysitter for teams, but with this being the first two weeks of the season, it could be harder to find someone. If I sign up for a team, will someone be able to help me out over this time period?

Anybody doing the day or week late team ?
I sure am not.....i'm not a fan of that strategy. I play the game from day 1. I hope most of the managers in our division think the same way.
For sure that weeklatephil will use the later strategy !

I am WeekLatePhil. I'm a little offended. Do you think a day late team or a week late team is cheating the system somehow? In fact a week late team is HARDER to do well in. But if successful, can be very rewarding.

I don't like day/week late team either, I just love this game too much to miss any night... Last year there wasn't much team going late and the competition was really good, this year should be a little different with the price tag and the weak sched...

I do not like the day/week late teams as this is only aimed at getting the money trains without wasting trades...The real game should not include the possibility to do a day/week late teams. All teams should have valid roaster by opening nights. That is my opinion but I respect others' and wish everyone a great year.
I'm really excited!

There is actually a very easy way Smallworld can stop day late teams. That is to make buying a player require a trade, instead of selling a player like it is now. But Smallworld WANTS to allow people to play, even if they don't start at the beginning.
Anyone who can't decide on a team before the season starts is in the same boat.

I think I pulled down the top score of the night with my week late team, unfortunately that still leaves me 1300 points behind the leader. A long way to go yet.
Just curious, does the inter-division mail from the Ultimate game get missed or ignored when it's so far down the first page when you get to your team. I know I look at who's on top of the division, then move on to the reviewing my team page.

Haha Dr. Doom you are absolutely right. I didn't notice you sent a msg until right now after reading your post. My team is lacking both in terms of money and points, but I do have a ton of trades. I wonder how I will end up?
