0 Subject: Week 9 trades

Currently have Turco and Mason as G

Might consider trading Turco today if he is not playing (do not like the Smith guy...). Currently Turco is cold having lost his last two.

My move....?
Turco > Giggy (but brizz might be back this week end, VAN, LAx2, NSH)
OR
Turco > Huette (kinda hot these days, but playing againsy CAR, TOR, BOS, NJ)
OR
Turco > Turco (staying put, i should have never traded giggy for Turco)

What do you think

Last night's loss doesn't sound like it was Turco's fault, he saved 26 of 28 shots and earned the game's 3rd star.

Dallas' sched is good, the wins should come.

alexeen has been very cold lately and I will be trading him very soon.

I like the Radulov move !
But I won't jump in....just because of Radu's ice time. Very low...8-10 min/game.

What about the policy....No trading players that play a game on the same day.

Latendresse would have been as a good as of move. He's playing on the 1st line, getting good min/game and plays on powerplay ! Cheep option !

Havlat's uncertain return is making my plans a little rough. Would like to get Jagr on my team by Wed/Thu of next week if I can.

Modano > Briere x3 (Thu or Fri)
Lecavalier > Malkin (Fri)
Savard > Malkin (Fri)

Kunitz > cheapie winger x3 (depends on performance)
Blake > Havlat x3 (date???)
St. Louis > Jagr/Straka (date??? have to free up RV first)

What about Alexeev to Erat?

A little bit more cash, but guaranteed more points.

paul stastny-c - colorado is a good option for those looking for cheap buys to open up cash for a big buy

Radulov is a bit of a risky pick too, he's a defensive liability:

From TSN.ca :
Predators rookie RW Alexander Radulov is living up to his hype as a scorer, showing a quick release and goal-scorer's instincts in the offensive zone. He made a nifty move around Flyers rookie D Jussi Timonen to score Wednesday night. However, his defensive play is still a work in progress, as he left Flyers RW R.J. Umberger unchecked on Philadelphia's second goal Wednesday night.

In fact Radulov was on the ice for both of the Philly goals, which is pretty bad considering he was on the ice for less than 9 minutes.

That's the kind of play that could get him sent back down to the AHL to work on his defensive game.

Roloson's killin me tonight!

and Radulov... NHL.com reported he scored the 2nd goal, and then I checked back right now and he never even got a point on the goal!

you can't win em all. Keep grinding out the RV and you won't remember November. It'ss shaping up to be the "season of the shutout" (you heard that phrase here first.)...and hatty.

Goalies are either spectacular or craptacular. Hard to predict when a goalie implosion will happen.

What about the policy....No trading players that play a game on the same day

I modify the "rule" (Alexeev>Erat) to OK trades into a player with same day game.

I've stayed the course with Emery...$ loss has been painfull, but last night's goose egg hopefully puts an end to the steep value drop. Dollars are important in the spring, but points are important every night. My version of rule could be the reason my RV sits under 62 million and WW the 400's...sucky enough to hold down the 12 spot in ESD...thus I am committed to ride with a no trade policy for the next week or so to build a trade inventory. Black Monday (onslaught of injuries) this past week has shown the error of not having trades stashed.

The result of not having trades has reached the certainty of death and taxes :<(

No Hossa or Heatley last night. :(

It was a lot easier to free up the RV for Jagr than I thought it would be. Those BUF guys are way cheaper than I expected.

TODAY:
Modano > Briere x3
Lecavalier > Malkin x1
Savard > Malkin x1

St. Louis > Vanek x3

PLANNED:
Kunitz > Havlat (?)
Blake > Jagr (12/06)

I'll probably go Spezza to Malkin, then Savard back to Spezza (12/05)...

I'm still looking at a decent replacement for Alexeev, I already have Vanek, looking at Pominville but this would make me with 3 Buf player, anyone with at good winger option in the 4 millions range??

I think Joelis' suggestion is still the best one. Erat.

Although maybe Nagy opens up as a possibility. Wayne sure managed to light a fire under his ass.

Spezza = Malkin
Alexeev = Straka (long term hold)

Going back to Spezza or Nylander from Savard after his next 2 game....

re: Havlat, it looks like the scenario is that a lot of people were dumping Kunitz and St. Louis, and Havlat was one of the beneficiaries.

Yesterday I did Kunitz > Havlat early myself, because I was afraid of Kunitz' selloff. If Havlat doesn't play tomorrow, I'm hoping for a big negative night from Kunitz. :)

I'll take the Kunitz game on Wednesday and move to Havlat. Not that i really have a choice but to wait... But the timing works out about as well as it could have.
