0 Subject: Any reason to dump Mason?

As long as Vokoun is injured, is there a reason to dump Mason?

At what point do you want to sacrifice his PPG/$ production to stay out of $$$ trouble? He can only go down moneywise, but he offers great bang for your buck...

I am holding him until Monday, at least. He is about to start a 3 in 4, including 2 games against St Louis. The 96 points last night should limit sales and RV losses. On Monday, I will re-evaluate the situation and may hold or sell.

Seems like a good plan to me. As long as he keeps getting starts, and playing decently, I don't really see any need to trade him. Nashville's schedule is still pretty good, and he even got both halves of the last B2B. Plus I've spent the money saved on him on expensive forwards already. :)

It's Monday, and it's hard to imagine we ever contemplated trading Mason last week. :)

Glad I saved the trade. Holding Mason. Hopefully he gets both halves of the next B2B too!

Yes, the points were very nice and the RV increase was an unexpected bonus. With Vokoun still being out for another week, I will hold Mason for now, but will need to accumulate some cash and a trade for a move to another goalie. Mason has been a good ride, but this train is getting close to the station.

Vokoun (left thumb) returned to the ice Tuesday morning for the first time since tearing a ligament in his thumb November 23, the Nashville Tennessean reports. Circle the week after Christmas on your calenders. If all goes well with Vokoun's rehab and thumb he should return to the lineup just after Christmas. per RotoWire

One thing is for sure, as soon as Vokoun returns, I'm bailing. I dont want to get caught south of the Mason/Vokoun line. So yes, u should prepare a nice litte cushion to significantly upgrade him. Maybe Kiprusoff could be interesting, but $$$...

Yeah, you definitely don't want to be caught holding Mason when Vokoun returns. I already cleared some RV space picking up the Calgary guys, and I'll be clearing more by Friday when I dump the Rangers, so I'll be ready.

Probably not Kiprusoff ready, but definitely Miller/Hasek/Huet ready.

From Tennessean.com

Vokoun update: Injured goalkeeper Tomas Vokoun has made "good progress with his hand," and could be cleared to return to practice either late this week or early next, Trotz said.

Vokoun, who underwent surgery on Nov. 27 to repair torn ligaments in his left, stick-holding hand, has not yet been allowed to hold his stick while on the ice, Trotz said, but he is expected to be cleared to do so either today or Thursday. When he does he will use a specially fitted glove to help protect the injured area.

I am thinking about moving Mason with the next 2 days off and a 1 in 5 upcoming. If it looks like Vokoun is still a couple of weeks away, Mason might still be a good choice to hold, but I have freed up the cash to move him and am afraid of a big RV drop.

Detroit and Montreal both have 14 games before the break. A bunch of teams have 13. Nashville has 12.
