interesting, I would've figured Buffalo would've wanted someone to step in for all their injured guys!
I wonder if Philly turns around and trades Biron

Yeah, not sure why Philly gives up a 2nd round pick for Biron, unless to flip him?

February 27 Senators acquire: F - Oleg Saprykin 2007 Pick (2nd Round) Trade time: 2:13 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coyotes acquire: 2007 Pick (2nd Round)
Wild acquire: F - Dominic Moore
Trade time: 1:56 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pens acquire: 2007 Pick (3rd Round)

Trade time: 1:39 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bruins acquire: D - Aaron Ward
Jim Kelley: Looks like a straight up swap of defencemen, but what really happen is New York sided with Jaromir Jagr in a locker room snit between Jagr and Ward. Mara is good, but it is Boston's gain by far. Sharks acquire: F - Bill Guerin
Trade time: 12:09 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blog :: Sharks making noise
Blues acquire: F - Ville Nieminen F - Jay Barriball 2007 Pick (1st Round)

I am liking what Pittsburgh is doing, picking up a vetern like Gary Roberts, and then some toughness with Laracque.
Very nicely done.

We just got him! Cleaning house almost.
Guerin & Bertuzzi = fantasy options if they are paired with anyone studly. Guerin in particular if they use him on the PP with Thornton, which seems likely (Joe the playmaker and Guerin the sharpshooter). That might up Cheechoo's game, too.

FINALLY the Sharks actually get some veteran toughness on their team instead of continuing to stubbornly hoard all of their young players to the point that they are wasted because the team is so untested in playoff conditions.
I don't know much about Pivet but they sure as hell paid a huge price for him. Love the Guerin move - they really need that grit.

Wow...that last one kind of surprised me. I know the talks weren't going super great, but I still thought they would ink up their (Non-C) leader.

Another team trades away their biggest heart and soul player:
Kings acquire: F - Jaroslav Modry F - Johann Fronssen 2007 Picks (1st, 2nd, 3rd) Stars acquire: D - Mattias Norstrom Konstantin Pushkarev 2007 Pick (3rd, 4th Round)

Dumb question.
In the Bertuzzi trade, the Red Wings have to give up 2 extra picks to Florida if they resign him.
In the Tkachuk trade, the Thrashers have to give up their 2008 1st round pick if they resign him.
Whats to stop the Thrashers from signing Bertuzzi and the Red Wings from signing Tkachuk...and trading for one another.
Each team would be screwing over a division rival! A loophole!

Of course, Bertuzzi and Tkachuk would have to agree with that before that can happen, and I don't think their reputations will be too great if such a thing really happens.
I suppose it's all about ethics.
