Rules:
1. If you do not pick a team for the first day of the contest, you can't join midway through, you'll have to wait
for the next game to start.  Look for the word *NEW* in the thread title.
2. Anyone can join, just pick which team you think will lose, you cant pick that team again for 2 weeks.
3. When a new game starts your prior picks are erased and you can choose from any of the teams again.
4. Once you pick a winning team, you're considered a loser, please leave ;)
5. Your pick must be in before that particular game starts.
6. If you do not submit a pick for a given day, it will be counted as a loss, errr, a win, and you will be eliminated.
7. If there is a day with less than 3 games on the schedule, we skip that day and pick things up the day after.
8. Once we get to the final 2 players, a couple of new rules are thrown in…
    a. Your pick cannot be posted more than 24 hours before that game starts.
    b. The two finalists cannot have the same picks, first come first serve.
    c. If one of the finalists does not make a pick, they are automatically declared as eliminated, regardless of
the results of the other finalists pick. If BOTH finalists do not make a pick, they are considered lame and I
will hold this against you forever.
-Tiebreaker -  amongst the teams you've picked, sum up their losses on the season.  That is how you get
your tiebreaker number.  The lower the better, it rewards you for picking better teams and staying away
from the bad teams.  If there is ever a day where everyone picks a winner, the tiebreaker will eliminate
every remaining player who doesn't have the lowest number (there may still be 2 or more people with
identical tiebreakers, so they'd keep playing another day)

(01-11) 17:47 PDT COLUMBUS (AP) --

Balrog doesn't plan to be at the arena if and when Rick007 breaks his pick the loser record.

"Uh-uh. No, no. I'm not going to be around," Balrog was quoted as saying in Friday's editions of The Denver Post.

Rick007 has 17 loser picks, one short of Balrog's career record. While Balrog has declined most interview requests in recent months, he spoke with Post columnist Woody Paige.

Balrog said he wouldn't attend if Rick007 was within reach of the record when the St. Louis Blues play at Columbus Friday night.

"I'd probably fly to West Palm Beach to play golf," Balrog was quoted as saying in Paige's column. "Again, it has nothing to do with anybody, other than I had enough of it. I don't want to be around that sort of thing anymore. I just want to be at peace with myself. I don't want to answer questions. It's going to be a no-win situation for me anyway. If I go, people are going to say, `Well, he went because of this.' If I don't go, they'll say whatever. I'll just let them make their own mind up."

Balrog, who did not return a call from The Associated Press, said PTL commissioner J has told him that Rick007 has asked several times why Balrog hasn't contacted him as he approaches the record.

"I don't talk to anybody, really, and I've never talked to Rick007, outside of that commercial we did together a few years ago, and a few other short times," Balrog was quoted as saying. "I'm 45 years old, and I'm not hopping on a plane and flying all the way to Columbus for anybody."

Speaking before Friday night's match in Columbus, Rick007 said he wasn't bothered by Balrog's stance.

"He has every right to do what he wants to do. I respect that," Rick007 said. "There's no reason for me to be disappointed. If he has other plans, other things to do, I respect that. He's his own man. He can do what he wants to do. I respect that. No hard feelings.

"Now if TheLeftWings wasn't there, I'd be disappointed," he said, referring to his godfather.

The plan for PD and WK is very simple.
Be glad for Rick007 if he breaks the record but deny him the victory....er loss.
Kinda like Bonds breaking the HR record in a 10-1 Giants loss.

Congrats Rick007!!! Tied Balrog's record AND won the longest round of the year.

Take a couple of days, let the pressure REALLY sink in, and we'll be back Tuesday to see if you can break the record!

Wow! You wonder how lucky you can get sometime. My first choice would have been either Chi or NYI last night, but I had taken them before...I knew Phoenix had a good shot at it since Staford was starting....

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family and all my fans. I swear this streak was done without the use of any illegal substances (Alcohol is legal, right?). I'll celebrate today and rest tomorrow and get prepared for Tuesday by running all kind of complicated analysis on Monday, like I always do, to make sure I finally beat this record. Again, thanks to all my fans!
