0 Subject: ATHS X (2011-2012 Season)

I've registered ATHS X for 2011-2012 and used Yahoo!'s notification system to send invitations to all managers who participated actively last season. I'll also take care of requesting a draft through Draftime (formerly kafenatid) when the time is right.

Previous ATHS members who have taken a break from the league ... please post here if you're interested in re-joining the group.

Draft registration instructions, including a link to our draft discussion forum at Draftime, have been sent via Yahoo! league mail. You'll also find this information posted on the league site at Yahoo!

I'll be out for a couple of hours. If the draft gets to me I'll be able to pick pretty much as soon as I get back.

ATHSers:

Please use our draft discussion forum at Draftime to convey league-related messages. This will be especially important when/if placeholders are used during the course of the draft.

The step-by-step way to get there: Go to the Draftime site, scroll to the bottom, click the Forums link, click Draft Discussions, and look for [HOCKEY] ATHS X.

Thanks.

Congrats to Toral for great play off run and winning championship.

Also thanks to WCE as Her Mooseness again masterminds an entertaining season of H2H hockey.

Thanx, Tax. That was admittedly tense being behind 8-0 on Wednesday...Thursday? but I knew my McHale's Navy crew of underachievers would come through in the end. or if not, at least manage to stock a full supply of brew in their torpedo tanks....

Thanx to Heatley for scoring the PPP I needed, and to Hiller for being just good enough on Sunday.

It was fun.

One idea I have for next year is to regulate pickups by week as many HtH leagues do rather than by season. I picked up a coupla players for the last day, feeling some guilt, altho I refused
to drop any of my real starters for this... As it turned out, it made no difference, but if we're having transaction maxes (which i now agree with, being old), maybe this is a better way to do it. And I liked the old-fashipned 2-week last matchup of the season.

Thanx also to the alluring and mysterious Christine.

Think I pulled the daily double...err..that would be the Hockey double, having finished 2nd in both ATHS and RGFHL this 2011-2012 season.

I agree with Toral about having the championship match run over two weeks (primarily because I lost in the 1 week playoff..no,no..just joking. Last match deserves a little special something after surviving season to get seeded, then surviving elimination rounds to get to championship match.

I don't know/care if it would have made a difference in results this year, but conceptual sound pontification from Grand Champion Toral. And I agree with WCE..pulling out victory on last day is beyond cool and the way championships should be won. Congrats again Toral.

Toral, Tax ...

Maximum player acquisitions per week (0-25) is one of the customizable settings, so whatever limit the league agrees to adopt for next season certainly can be implemented.

Yahoo! playoffs, on the other hand, are now single-week rounds only, i.e., the option to select a two-week finals no longer exists.
