Subject: ATHS XI (2012-2013 Season)

I've registered ATHS XI for 2012-2013 and used Yahoo!'s notification system to send invitations to all managers who participated last season. All league settings are open for discussion until the draft begins. The only modification that I made was to replace the maximum number of roster moves for the season with a maximum of seven per week (average of one per day) — that's an arbitrary figure selected only to finish the setup process.

I am proposing that we change one of the "D" roster positions to a "Util" slot, or add a "Util" position (player can be any forward/defenseman).

I agree. I always end up with scrub D and max out my Center GP every year. Having a UT spot would give a lot more flexibility.

I have no problem with adding a utility position.
I would also like to see an extra skater type category. Maybe something to make defensemen more relevant. Perhaps blocked shots or hits. Just throwing it out there.

Agree with change adding a utility spot. I would prefer to keep 4 D, but I won't cry if we go to 3 D.

Can we have a thumbs up or thumbs down on playing an abbreviated ATHS XI season, now that the NHL and the players' association have reached a tentative agreement?
We have ten teams registered for the league; follow-up invitations have been sent via Yahoo! to the two missing managers. Should we decide to proceed and end up with an odd number of teams, is there any objection to playing rotisserie instead of head-to-head?
The utility position has been added.
What are your thoughts re: adding a scoring category (blocked shots or hits), as proposed by Dr. Doom?

Modified the league schedule to include the final week of Yahoo! competition; this will give us an additional week of "regular season" play before playoffs begin.
Previous setting: Week 22, 23 and 24 (8 teams)
Week 24 runs 7 days from April 1 to April 7
New setting: Week 23, 24 and 25 (8 teams)
Week 25 runs 6 days from April 8 to April 13

Re #9: A head-to-head might be tough for s shortened season, unless everyone makes the playoffs and the short season is just used for playoff seeding. Happy either way, myself.
