Subject: ATHS XII (2013-2014 Season)

I've created ATHS XII for 2013-2014 and used Yahoo!'s notification system to send invitations to all managers who participated last season. Follow-up messages containing the league's custom URL were also sent via regular e-mail from my RoadRunner account.
All league settings are open for discussion until the draft begins.
Former ATHS members who have taken a break from the league, or newcomers ... please post here, with link to e-mail address, if you're interested in joining the group. Because the scoring format is head-to-head, an even number of teams will be required.
Draftime details will be shared when available. |

Our current league settings are copied below. Any changes worth considering before the draft begins? For example ...
• Should we swap one of the D slots for a second Util?
• Is there enough interest in trying a two-division setup? (Division winners would be seeded first and second in playoffs.)
• Would you like to try playoff reseeding? (Playoff reseeding will adjust the second-round matchups so the highest seeded team will play the lowest ranked team. Playoff reseeding will occur when there is an upset in the first round of the playoffs.)
The numbered playoff "weeks" listed are subject to change; our playoffs should end April 6 (one week before the last day of the NHL regular season), regardless of what "week" that happens to be in Yahoo! fantasy hockey. If necessary, the trade end date will be adjusted as well.

I'd be up for that. Defence was paper thin last year.

I'm pretty indifferent. I'm happy with the current format.

I like this idea. Didn't realize it wasn't already part of our format. May as well do it the way the NHL does.

I will be the voice of the embattled 4th defenceman. Getting something out of that position is a challenge, of the kind dedicated fantasy players should embrace, not avoid.
I don't get the idea of a two-division setup. On what basis?
Playoff reseeding is good.

Scratch that last post. I renewed the league (first time ever selecting that option instead of creating a new league) and all managers from last season were automatically added to the draft.

Yahoo! has finally resolved the issue involving the final week of the NHL season (April 7–13) by combining the original weeks 1 and 2. Week 25 will end on April 13, giving leagues the choice of the full season schedule.
I've moved our playoffs back to weeks 22–24, ending April 6.

Wow, botched that last pick. Made it from my phone thinking it was the RGFHL draft. There's half a dozen wingers I would have taken before Yak. Oh well, I've got high hopes for him
