We're baaaack! Everyone who participated in ATHS last season should have received notification from Yahoo that your team has been renewed.

We will have three IR+ positions, which covers players designated Injured Reserve, Day-to-Day, or Out. The option also exists to add NA (Not Active) ... do we, or don't we?

Regarding NA players being included under IR+, I vote no.

NA is a separate non-scoring roster position. After re-reading my opening post, I can see that I did not explain that there is a difference between the injury categories and NA status.

Below is information copied from Yahoo. (For hockey, substitute "IR" or "IR+" for "DL.") A player has to be on a manager's active roster to be moved to the NA position, i.e., he cannot be drafted directly into the NA slot.

How the NA roster spot works

The NA (Not Active) roster spot in Yahoo Sports Fantasy Baseball and Fantasy Hockey gives you the option of stashing away inactive players on your roster (like a minor leaguer or injured player) instead of using a bench position.

When you add a player to the NA roster spot, they won't count against your 30-man limit. (You'll have anywhere from 0-5 NA slots in addition to your 0-5 DL slots)

For a player to be eligible to be placed in the NA position, they need to have "NA" status in the game, which is generally applied the morning following their deactivation.

Once a player is reactivated by their real-life team, you can place them into your starting lineup (even if they still have "NA" status) in order to start scoring for the stats they earn while playing.

Players with the "Suspended" (SUSP) status are not eligible for the NA roster position.

I'm pretty indifferent to the rule, happy either way

Yea, I'm cool with whatever the league officialdom decides. Personally, I don't really see the purpose for this in a redraft league and would still vote no.

NA spot seems fine to me, no strong feeling either way

I don't understand NA and its no doubt sinister uses, so I would opt for "No" unless someone gives
me some sort of explanation of its strategic uses.
I'm getting to be an old dog, and while I might be taught new tricks, I can't figure them out for myself,

But I don't feel strongly about it. Let the commish, who does all the work, decide.

A weak preference for not adding NA.

It seems to me that the cost of holding onto a non-scoring position is that you have to use a bench spot. An NA position will allow managers to scoop up and holding onto speculative players, weakening the waiver wire.

I don't have a strong dislike and will be fine if the league allows it. But my preference would be not to add it.
