Congrats to our 2021 champ, MailedFoot. Well deserved victory. Kudos to Cobwebs and LittleM for rounding out the top 3.
Season is renewed in Yahoo! Please let me know if you are in or out.
Keepers = 4 & Only allowed to keep 1 goalie.
Roster positions to draft:
3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 5 D, 1 Util, 2 G, 4 bench.
Miscellaenous positions:
1 IR position for IR players
1 IR+ position for day to day, and out type players.
Draft Order is the reverse of the final finish from last year.
Forwards/Defensemen Stat Categories:
Goals (G), Assists (A), Plus/Minus (+/-), Penalty Minutes (PIM), Powerplay Points (PPP), Shots on Goal (SOG), Hits (HIT)
Goaltenders Stat Categories:
Wins (W), Goals Against Average (GAA), Save Percentage (SV%), Shutouts (SHO)
Draft date and keepers date TBD.

If we are going to draft TommyD's team based on Yahoo! rankings for TommyD there has to be some sort of penalty for the delay. I'm thinking TommyD should forfeit at least two rounds. Something like the 3rd and 5th round picks.

The ranking that I am looking at on Yahoo have Pietrangelo rated higher than Teravainen, but I might be looking at last season's rankings.

the new stat cats change the rankings. Hall, Horvat also rank ahead of Tera.
Demko, Varlamov, and Ullmark all rank higher than Halak as well.
I will adjust according.

I'm still picking TommyD's team using the Pre-Season rankings in Yahoo! Eventually I'll need to shift from the rankings in order to complete the roster positions.
Regarding thread 87. I'm not going to put a time limit on picks just yet. Weekends are notoriously slow for picking as and folks have better things to do (I hope). I expect the pace to pick up so we can finish by next week's puck drop.
I will monitor the pace and if I think we are not going to wrap up for me to finish off the admin work i'll put on a time limit for picks and will notify everyone via email.

Week 2 is underway and my excitement for the pool is dampened by the fact we have not heard from TommyD. The last post from him was September 2nd. Definitely concerning when we don't hear from a longtime gurupie. I'm hopeful he'll return.
In the meantime as a commish i've taken control of his team and i'm making daily changes to ensure the team and the league are not impacted by inactivity. Obviously, I don't plan on making trades, but I will occasionally perform add and drops.
Should we need to recruit another manager (hopefully not) i'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult given the fact that he has the best player on his roster...

Week 1 is in the books and I'm fairly happy with how my team is performing. So far looking good in all point categories. Hopefully the balance is correct but as usual tweaks and injuries are inevitable and i'll have to make a change before someone snipes a player i like.
Injuries can best summarize week 1. I've never seen so many top tier players go down.
Losing players to Covid is still an issue, but we'll work through it. I won't make any adjustments to the roster settings just yet. If the NHL makes an announcement or makes changes then I'll react accordingly.
I'm like the new goalie stat. Way better than shutouts.
Blocks is also growing on me.
Every time i see my player take a penalty i'm excited and then i realize it's no longer a category. lol.

Also really hope TommyD is ok and just MIA for the time being. Do feel like PIM’s are a bit missed, I still get a twinkle in my eye when I see one of my guys rack ‘em up. Perhaps we can visit re-instating PIM’s next year.
Nice to have a long proper 82 game season back.

The team that was drafted so well that it hasn't needed a move all year has coasted in first all year. Until now. The heat is on. Looks like a great battle. The view isn't great from 9th place, but 96.5, 95.5 and 94 top 3 spots is looking like a sweet finish brewing!

Wild card thought with the PIMs comments above, have we ever considered points league, somewhat emulating smallworld putting various point weights on our categories? We like the balance of roto enough that it's never come up? I missed earliest years but don't recall this wild of a thought brought up.

Heading into the final weekend of the regular season. I think it's certain "The Dynasty" will take the title again. Congrats on a very dedicated run to the top. It was very fun to watch.
Fight for 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th is underway. It will go down to the wire.

115- yahoo does offer a points league, not sure if it can be customized, that's probably a bigger dream though, focus on getting a 12th manager seems to be our top priority for the moment. Sad to not hear any word from tommyd

Thanks guys. Great battle, I still can’t believe TommyD - essentially an auto draft team - held court nearly wire to wire this season. Lucky to have pulled it out at the end.
I took an assessment of my team around the All-star break and put in motion a plan that would hopefully max out pts given where the strengths of my team where at the time. Fortunate that it worked out, and Big shout outs to JT Miller, F. Forsberg, Tarasenko, McAvoy, J. Carlson and Shesterkin for absolutely humongous fantasy seasons. They made my otherwise weak draft survivable. Looking forward to defending the title next year.
And while I’m at it, I’d like to put forth early motion to reinstate PIM’s as a skater category (in additions to keeping BLKs), kinda ultimately missed having it. And yes it may be time to reach out for a 12th manager.

Congrats to Dienasty, Foot, for the 1st and 3rd finish and to Cobwebs for 4th. Good job managing your teams down the stretch.
My team fizzled and I'm exhausted. I feel i've ran a 100yd sprint in a 90yd gym.
I was managing my team while also managing TommyD's team (using the commish features). It was mentally draining, especially if i wasn't around a computer. Using a phone to make roster adjustments was cumbersome and frustrating. The commish functions to manage a limbo team is a pain in the ass. Roster adjustments have to be a daily activity (no weekly set it and forget it option), team research is horrendous, and there's no way to utilize the waiver function. Oh well, the lessons we learn eh?
So with that,
Two items of business for next season:
1) New manager for TommyD's team - it's an awesome team, holy crap is it good.
and
2) A commissioner for next year. I'd like to take a step back so if anyone wants to take over and assume command let me know.
